Sitting in a room alone. Nothing but me, the air, and my furniture... Mom always told me "We will get through this together". Though I haven't seen one spark of joy since pa passed. Without him all we have is a couple of potatoes, carrots, and one beet. When I go to school it all gets worse, a girl named Beatrice with big pig tails and lots of freckles and her ugly minions decide to gang up on me. I try to hide it all from Ma, it'll just make her drinking habits worse... after all that's all she cares about.Ive been doing my best, working around the house trying to give mom a hand, though I noticed a big disconnection between me and her. She never says a little bit of a "Thank you" or "You're the best" all I get is one plain nod of the head, sometimes nothing at all.
