i walked into the school towards the cafeteria, chatting with butters as Chris and Greg trailed behind making light conversation about who knows what. we reached the cafeteria and I bid goodbye to butters as he ran off to sit with some friends. "come on Lupa I want you to meet some of my friends." Greg exclaimed as he took my hand and led me to a table with only two people. the first was a skinny boy dressed rather... strangely with his blonde hair cut into a bowl cut, the other boy though, his aura alone caused me to hesitate. he was of average height with shaggy black hair and pointed ears. what shook me up the most was his piercing red eyes, like glowing blood. the eyes of a demon, eyes of the son of Satan, eyes I had met before. his scent reeked of blood. i knew he could sense what i was. i notice Chris' and Greg's concerned looks and i gave them a reassuring smile and trudged along behind them. as we approached, the two boys glanced up at up and greeted us. "my friends i would like to introduce you to our new friend sonny. sonny this is Phillip," pointing to the blonde boy "and Damien" he said pointing to the demon boy. i shyly waved, as i usually do. "hiya" we chatted about random things as we ate our lunch, getting to know one another making things a bit more comfortable. Damien on the other hand stared me down for most of the duration of lunch. it wasn't a menacing gaze but more questioning and intrigued gaze like I was a math equation he was attempting to solve. I had as lunch came to a close and i had finished eating, i checked my schedule to see i had study hall next. asking around the table it seemed that Damien would be the only one to keep me company for that class period. i sighed and debated skipping and getting some much needed fresh air out behind the school. the bell rang and we dispersed towards our assigned classrooms. when the others were gone from sight i turned to Damien. "hey Damien, would you be against me skipping study hall?" "only if I can join you. besides where are you gonna go?" he huffed out. "well i was gonna go out back for a little while you know, get some fresh air and get away from people." he let out a snort at my comment and trailed behind me as i slipped through the kitchen and out the back door. we exited the building and to my right were a group of kids, obviously goths. they sat around behind the dumpsters under some overhang, smoking. they turned their attention to Damien and I as we walked down the steps and seemed to be questioning if i was conformist or not without saying anything.  i gave a slight wave before turning back to my companion and beckoning him to follow me, over to a few cement blocks

~45 minutes later~

(Damien's pov)

we plopped down on the blocks of cement content in the momentary silence. looking at Lupa I noticed she had begun to scale the building using pipes and such for assistance. as she tumbled onto the roof I let out a chuckle and shook my head. I could hear giggling and running around letting out the occasional howl. seeing one of her kind was a rarity, but one living amongst humans was almost unheard of. werewolves were an endangered species. father would tell me stories about them and how he had friends who were werewolves.

~lupa's pov~

looking out on the town from this view was great but I was getting tired so I dropped down from the roof next to Damien. I peered at him, laying back against the building, arms crossed and eyes closed crouched next to him on the cement block he sat on I took in his scent. brimstone and cinnamon. it was warm and kinda spicy. he smirked and opened his mouth. "isn't it dangerous for one of you to be on your own? wheres your pack?" I was taken aback but smiled plopping down next to him. "never met someone like me, my dads found me as a pup and have raised me themselves." he sighed "guess we have that in common." we laughed and chatted having a new sort of bond between us. the bell rang and we walked back and went our separate ways in comfortable silence.
