Veronica's Pov

Knowing Alex would be inside, working overshift as usual I pulled on the handle of the door of The Net.

To my horror, the door didn't budge. I leaned down, looking at lock. It was in the hole. The building, that was only closed on New Years and Christmas, was locked.

I didn't know what to do. This has never happened. I was aloss of words.

I turned around and fell to my knees. They stung and I could already feel the skin turn blue.

I was by then shamelessly crying. Looking up I said, "please, please, please, God, please send someone to help me!"

I let my head fall into my hands. I sat there on my knees in a puddle. The oh-so-important papers of mine still slightly dry.

I sat like that for less than a minute when I had this strange need to look up.

At first there was nothing, then, out of nowhere this hot guy with little horns hiding between his jetblack hair pops up.

He looked unsure, glancing around like he didn't understand why he just magically appeared out of thin light. He saw me and instantly smiled. I was confused. He came to me and held out his hand.

Not knowing what exactly happened, I took his hand and waited for him to say something. I didn't have to wait long.

The moment I stood up straight, he said, "Man, you don't know how fast angels are. Like, daaaaaamn. Can you believe I am feeling the tiniest bit exhausted? WOW."

"W-What?" I stuttered.

He smiled charmingly at me and held out his hand again.

I took it. His hand was too hot.

"Tobias Lucious, son of Lucifer, grandson of Satan," he chuckled, "Son of Hannah, an Angel."

I couldn't take in exactly what he said.

"I-I'm sorry, I thought you said you're the son of Lucifer," I laughed.

"You heard correctly, darlin'," he said taking his hand from mine.

I put my hand to my head and laughed a laugh that made me sound insane.

"This can't be happening," I whispered to myself.

I looked at him.

He looked hurt.

"Hey listen here, I didn't just fight off like I don't know, thirty-five, angels, just to get rejected!" He said, picking up my papers I left on the ground.

He handed them to me and I gladly took the stack. It was dry.

I smiled at him, finally believing him.

"What are you?" I asked, still a bit on edge.

He pushed a few wet hairs out of my face and grinned, "Now, that's a story I don't mind telling you, but I really do think we should get you out of the rain first don't you think?"

"That'd be cool and all, but someone stole my car this morning."

"Well that's why you got me here, Sweetheart," he said, locking arms with me.

"Why are you here?" I asked him.

He smacked his deliciously full lips together and suddenly they were on my ear, "The big man up there saw someone needs a helping gaurdian."

"B-But you're not an a-angel..." I whimpered, not trusting my voice.

"Yeah, but you're kinda cute."

I felt my cheeks become red.

He chuckled deeply next to me, "Let's get you home, Sweetheart."

and finally he has made an appearance! took me long enough, ay?
