The Halfas

Chapter 1

Percy's POV

Percy, Nico, and Jason were having an"Every Man for Themselves" sword fight in the battle arena of Camp Half-Blood. Percy noticed that they were almost evenly matched in skills, however they were different. Nico used the shadows, Jason fought like a Roman,and Percy fought like a Greek. Although the latter was trying to disarm the other two rather than land a hefty blow, as he had been taught by a great swordsman, Luke.

All of their closest friends were there, except for leo, who was believed to be dead. At the beginning of the sword fight, Annabeth and Piper had competed to shout for their boyfriend's louder than the other, but now, since Hazel had told them to be quieter, they were glaring at each other. Hazel, Reyna, and Frank were cheering for Nico, and Thalia was helping Piper cheer for Jason. Grover and Tyson were helping Annabeth cheer for Percy.

Percy had the upper hand on Nico, but Jason was just a lot tougher because Percy wasn't used to fighting like a Roman. Nico began trning his attention more on Jason as soon as Percy started putting all of his strength on Nico.

"Hey...I thought...we...had a...deal," Jason said between pants. Percy looked at the two of them confused.

"Sorry...but...it would...be easier...to finish...him...off...on my own," Nico replied in an airy voice.

As that was said, both Percy and Nico ganged up on the Roman with their swords. Percy looked for a chance to disarm him,and when the opportunity struck, he took it. Jason's sword went flying to the other side of the arena, and e was out, as Coach Hedge, who was the referee, declared.

"Come on Jason! You and I both know that you should've won that!" the satyr screamed. Jason just rolled his eyes, picked up his sword, and joined Nico's cheer squad.

Percy and Nico were now neck in neck with their swords.

"You...probably...should've...gotten rid of...me first!" Percy taunted as he changed Riptide into the stygian iron sword with enough force to knock it out of the younger demigod's hand.

"Jeez Perce!" Nico exclaimed. "Maybe next time try not to break my wrist?"

"Sorry, Nico," Percy apologized. "I've never done that with a demigod before, and I wanted to know if it was possible without hurting the opponent."

Just then, Chiron came clopping into the arena. "Will you all please come with me? It's quite urgent."

The demigods sought for, and the satyrs, followed Chiron to Thalia's tree. Sitting there was a metal dragon, and on it's back sat Leo Valdez and, as Percy recognized, Calypso.

"Leo!" Jason exclaimed as soon as he saw them.

"Hey guys, uh we have a small problem," Leo said.
