Finally. Adam and I are making progress. That means I'm one step closer to making him mine. If only I could show him how awful Lisa is. She put me through so much shit; I don't understand how Adam can love her so much. Well, he's already seen what a terrible person Lisa is but, he just tries to tell her what she does wrong. However, the only way for him to leave her is for Lisa to hurt him to point of no forgiveness. So Adam can break down and come running to me. Crying on my shoulder. Craving my love and affection. There's no way he will go back to Lisa. Then we will be Adam and Eve. It has a nice ring to it.
I'll come up with a plan soon enough but for now, I have to get on Adam's good side. I'll get him to be my friend so he'll trust me. I have to get him to trust me. We don't have trust we don't have anything. If we don't have anything, I'm back where I started which is nowhere.
It's time for math class and I can't stop staring at Adam. I hate thinking of someone breaking his heart. Tears falling down that adorable face of his. Contemplating the point of life with all that pain. Having chest pains at 3 a.m. No one deserves that. Especially Adam.
Mr.Matthews starts teaching his class for the day "Good morning class. Let us pick up where we left off. Now let's see who remembers---without using your textbooks. To find the slope of a line you have to...? Anyone. Adam?"
"Um...you...multiply--"
"Nope."
"Eve?"
"Use the slope equation which is y-y1/x-x1."
"Correct. Nice job Eve."
"Mr.Jackson maybe you should ask for some tutoring. Maybe from Eve." This is my chance. This is how I can get Adam to trust me. Thank you Mr.Matthews for putting that idea in his head. Adam might actually try to get help from me. I'm a math genius and he isn't doing great. Clearly, we are supposed to be something. Friends. Partners. Lovers. Call it what you want, but we are meant to be more than nothing.
The bell has rung and it's time to go to my next class. In the hallway, Adam stops as I make my way to my next period. "Can you help me?"
"With what?"
"You know...math. I need to bring my grade up in that class. I don't really understand the material. So I figured I'd take Mr.Matthew's advice and ask you for help."
"Of course I can help you."
"Great, thanks. Do me another favor and don't tell Lisa, or else she'll be pissed at me."
"Your secret is safe with me."
"Speaking of secret."
There she was. It was an awful sight to see. Hurting Adam. Cracking his heart wide open. No one deserves this. Trusting them to not pull the trigger. Hoping that when you fell for them, you never had to dodge a bullet. Then you come to find out, you were standing right in front of the bullet all along, and it was headed right towards you. Now it finally hit. It's a fatal shot to the heart. There'a no fixing it. No healing stage. You just bleed out and die. All because you loved someone. And they never loved you back.
"Lisa what the hell are you doing!"
"Adam...I have a good explanation for this."
"Oh really! You have a good explanation for cheating on me with someone else?." Adam screamed. "Why were you making out with him!"
"Jordan was helping me run lines for theater and we were practicing the kissing scene."
"You're not in theater."
"I auditioned for the school play."
"Really? What play?"
"Romeo and Juliet?"
"You don't even what play you're rehearsing for! The school is doing Taming of the Shrew, not Romeo and Juliet."
"Oh"
Busted! I can't believe she really did this. She hurt him herself. I didn't even have to do anything. I didn't need a plan. I just had to let Lisa be Lisa. A dirty little whore with no concern for anyone but herself. I feel sorry for Adam but, I'm so happy that he saw her for who she really is. Sometimes in life you have to bump your head against a brick wall in order to learn.
The entire hallway surrounded them as Adam had shown his rage to everyone. He was punching lockers and screaming. You can tell he's angry and hurt. I just wish I could go through the pain for him. You feel that way when you love someone.
"Lisa, tell me and the whole school why you decided to cheat on me." She wouldn't speak. "Say something bitch!"
The comment made Jordan speak up "Aye don't call her that!"
"Shut the fuck up!" Adam responded and pushed him against the lockers. Fists were flying, lockers were being dented, and a vicious animal was unleashed from a teenage boy. Adam was on top throwing punch after punch. Jordan was out but it looked like Adam wasn't stopping anytime soon. Finally the principal and a school officer arrived at the scene. Adam's hands covered on Jordan's blood, Lisa is terrified, I stand here wishing I could save Adam, and the whole witnessing the disaster that was Adam and Lisa. The officer had to detach Adam from Jordan's almost soulless body. The officer had trouble making Adam let go of the near corpse. Adam finally let go and as the officer dragged him away, he yelled "It was supposed to be you and me. It was supposed to be us. Start to finish. Till death do us part. You and me against the world Lisa." Adam said to himself, "You and me." He was sobbing. I've never seen a guy cry like that. I've always heard that boys can't cry. The level of masculinity decreases. The vulnerability of a man is not a good thing. They shouldn't break down in front of anyone. No evidence of having any kind feeling or emotion. Any human being full of testosterone can't wear their heart on their sleeve. Except for Adam. I think real men show emotion and cry. You have to be strong to show people weakness. It's awful showing people how weak you can be. Especially when you try so hard to show everyone how strong you are. Because strength is better than weakness, but not always better for you. Stay strong Adam.
