Chapter 4

I awoke in what I thought was the real world, but to discover some things didn't feel the same, like I was seeing the future, but I'm not really there. I got up off the floor. I didn't know where I was, I didn't know what time or date it was either. I walked down the hallway. I could hear voices, but couldn't quite make out what they were saying. I walked closer to the door. I could hear two voices, the voices sounded like mine and Jenna's, I could head bones cracking like something was changing and then I heard myself yelling. I reached to open the door, I pushed it open to see myself on the floor bleeding. Seeing that, I felt the same hit of pain when I got knocked out. I awoke in a room I had never seen before. It smelled different, like a house with lots of dogs. I opened my eyes, but everything was a blur. I could hear a man and a woman's voice, but the woman's voice was the only voice that sounded familiar the man's voice was not familiar at all I lost consciousness again. I awoke once again my vision still a blur. The voices are a bit more clear this time. "He's awake, look." I could hear. I tried to look with my eyes, but it was still too blurry. I could only listen. The words begin to fade and I lose consciousness. I'm in the world again I'm walking for what feels like forever down the lonely hallway. I closed my eyes hoping I would wake up, I opened them. Now I'm on a bridge. I feel it move and shift and then it breaks. I'm falling, then suddenly my eyes open I'm breathing heavily I can see everything I'm in a room finely decorated, no lights and a warm bed. I see the bedroom door open. Jenna walks through and sits next to me. "Your awake, it's about time I thought you were going to sleep till the end of the world." I chuckled. "What happened?" "You were attacked by a Dark Blood assassin." "What that?" "It's basically an assassin from a vampire group that your gang calls for an assassination, their hundreds of years old and very skilled, the one that attacked you wasn't very skilled and very sloppy and ended up getting himself killed." I nodded. "Well I've got to go." I stood up and immediately fell to the ground. "Don't try to move you were hit on your head." "Wait how bad is it?" "It's not that bad he just barely fractured your skull, he wasn't very beefy." I lied back down on the bed for some more rest. I awoke again from falling. This time no one came. I wanted to walk around to explore. I tried to get up again this time I was leaning on a stick next to the bed. I walked to the door and opened it. There I saw Jenna and another person. I didn't know what his name was, but he had this sort of awe when you seen him. His all around structure told me he was human as far as I could see. His eyes weren't brown. They were hazel this means he was human. Brown was meant for the werewolves, and bright ocean blue eyes were for the vampires. I walked towards him. He said "So this is the man that's been in the back room for so long." I nodded "Well I assume you can speak so what's your name?" I looked at him "My names John." "Do you have a last name?" I shook my head "Haven't had one since my wife was killed." He lowered his head. "Well I'm sorry that happened, if I may ask I know it's not within my rights to ask, but how?" "She was killed by a vampire because I didn't kill him the first time." He nodded. "Well as far as I can tell you're human so what are you doing here?" He chuckled "I'm part of the family they adopted me when my family was killed by Dark Blood Assassins, I guess you could say I've got something against them." I laughed. "Well how long have you been with this family of Jenna's?" "I have been with this family ever since I was a baby, when I was taken in by them my old family was attacked on the streets right outside the Rockford hospital, after that I was raised like them in every way but I was never one of them. They don't force it on me they tell me when the time is right I can make that life choice when I turn 18." I was confused. "How old are you then?" "I'm only 16, close but no cigar." I was shocked that as young as he was he had already been mixed up in this. "Well it's been nice talking to you, I never asked what was your name?" He turned "My name is Jared the one and only."
