Kyra, ♥.
that following night.
7:43 pm.
I patiently wait for Mr. Perez by my desk. All my work is completed, meaning I have nothing to do until he arrives. I check my Instagram to kill time, my news feed flooding with notifications.
" You know he's married right. " interrupts Sarah, rudely slamming a large stack of file papers on my desk. Not only is she bold enough to sit on my desk, putting her butt on my completed work, but she also stared me down with the evilest glare.
I chuckle at her pathetic ness, simply brushing her off. " I see the way you look at him. You might as we'll give up, because your not even his type." She pops the p, toying her fingers through the ends of my straight hair. I flash her the kindest smile, dryly speaking.
" Poor Sarah. Your watching what I'm doing so much and I haven't even been here for a full 24 hours yet. That says so much about you." I reply in a nonchalant way.
" I just advise you to watch your back b--ch." She threatens with gritted teeth, dismissing herself after a dramatic hair flip.
I scoffed.
" Hopefully, I'm not too late." sprints over Perez. " Nope, I was actually just finishing some work." I lie.
" You look very handsome." I compliment, viewing his entire look in awe.
" Thank you. My wife picked it out for me. " he adds. My smile immediately fades away. I notice Sarah watching from afar through her office glass window. I flirtatiously and playfully slap Perez in the arm, " Oh, Mr. Perez, your so funny." I say , purposely loud so that she can hear.
" Shall we leave now ? " he smile, extending his arm out so that I can link onto it. " Such a gentleman." I giggle.
" Anything for a beautiful lady like yourself." He adds. That simple compliment made my insides flutter.
Perez and I walk and small talk to the elevator. I step inside first as he follows behind. Still staring from afar is Sarah.

Dinner ♥.
" Check please." Perez calls out to the waiter. With the richest and fullest accent, the waiter replies with a gentle nod. Rapidly, he comes back with the bill.
" Let me pay. You did enough already." I assure Perez, willingly reaching into my purse for my cash. But, Perez refuse, politely pushing my hand down.
" I can't let you do that. A women shall never pay for a dinner as long as she is with me." He winks, handing the waiter a credit card. " Thank you sir." The waiter hands the card back, leaving us alone again.
" Your wife must be really lucky to have someone like you." I drift in admiration. " I'm the lucky one. She's the greatest gift, including my two beautiful young girls God has given me." He proudly says.
" What about you ? Are you single ?" He questions. " No." I tell. He playfully gasp. " You have to be kidding me. Your gorgeous !" He adds. " Thank you, but relationships just aren't for me." I admit, not wanting to get too personal. I don't want this night to be about me. I want to actually get to know my boss.
" Mr. Perez "
" Call me Jacob." He chimes in.
" Okay, Jacob. I don't get it. How is your wife okay with you going on dinners with your female employees." I ask in curiosity.
" My wife and I have an understanding. She knows that I will never do anything to jeopardize our marriage." He tells.
I want this man. I want every single part of him. He's innocent. I just want to mess him up a bit. Perez and I converse a little longer. Getting lost in our conversation, neither one of us noticed it was closing time for the restaurant.
" I should be getting home. My wife is probably worried. " he exhale deeply, catching his breath after a laugh. Perez check his watch for the time.
" That is what happens when you get lost in a conversation with me." I tease.
" You are great company." He smiles.
" Oh, I know." I giggle.
He slide his arms inside his coat sleeve, I helping him adjust it. When our gaze me, he flashes me a warm smile as I adjust his bow tie.
" After you." He opens the exit door, allowing me to walk out first. He does the same thing when we get to his black Chevrolet vehicle. I kindly thank him. He drives carefully out the parking lot, on his way to take me home.
~
He smoothly drives up to my house, entering the drive way. " Thank you for the dinner Mr. Perez." I say once again. " I told you to call me Jacob, Kyra. But, your welcome. I'm glad to have you apart of my team."
I just happen to get lost in his coco brown eyes. I trail my eyes down to his little , but firm lips. His hand caress my facial cheek, brushing a curl behind my ear. " Have a good night." He whisper softly. " You too."
I unbuckle my seat belt. Perez runs out to open my side of the door. Once, I step out he swings his jacket over my shoulders. " What about your wife ?" I ask. " I have many jackets." He assure me. I shyly smile, glancing down at the concrete. Perez tilts my chin slightly high, taking the moment to stare into my eyes.
" I had a fun time." he trails off softly, his lips curving into a meaningful smile.
" Me too." I agree.
" See you tomorrow at work ?" He ask, raising his right brow.
" Tomorrow , at four." I say. I reach into my purse for my house keys.
" Good night, Ms. Hills. " he caress my cheek again, toying with my necklace that lye just above my breast line. His eyes slowly avert to my lips then to my eyes repeatedly.
" Good night, Mr. Perez. " I brush past him, stuffing the key into the lock, walking inside and closing the door.
