"Meliodas! Meliodas!" I screamed his name over and over just hoping. Please be okay... I noticed the others talking, but I didn't care to pay attention. I held Meliodas in my arms, playing with his hair. Why... Why can't I heal him?!
Merlin came over and put her hand gently on my shoulder, "Elizabeth, hand the Captain over to me."
I held him even closer, "I'm sorry Lady Merlin, but I can't do that."
"Please Elizabeth.."
I looked at her with tears in my eyes, "No, I won't give up! I can't.." I noticed the others looked away from me as I turned towards them. I look down at him, limp in my arms. "Meliodas.. you promised.. you promised me you'd come back to me alive!"
Diane hesitantly walks over to me, sitting down next to me. She hugged me tightly and teared up with me, "I'm sorry, Elizabeth.." I hugged her back as I cried into her shoulder. She cried with me as repeated the same words I'm so sorry.
Slowly, one by one everyone came over to comfort me. Everyone except Gowther, "Why is everyone so upset? The Captain's death was unavoidable, sooner or later he would have died."
Ban clenched his fist with anger written all over his face. He went over to the doll and he would have punched him if Merlin didn't step in. "Merlin, get out of the way!"
"I'm sorry Ban, but I can't do that. Let's just calm down now..."
"Calm down? Calm down?! The Cap'n is dead and this freak is telling me that there was nothing we could have done to save him!"
Merlin place her hand on Ban's shoulder and looked away, "Please calm down, for Elizabeth's sake.."
He looked over at me then looked at the ground, "I'm sorry princess.."
I shook my head and looked back at Meliodas, tears welling up again. "What.. what were his final words..?"
Everyone tensed but then someone spoke, breaking the silence, " 'I love you Elizabeth and I'm sorry that I won't be able to keep my promise to you..' "
I teared up more but smiled softly as I softly caressed his cheek, "I love you too Meliodas and I always will... no matter what."
