July 25, 1952 (less than a week until my birthday {July 30})
"I've succesfully managed to avoid both Elizabeth and Laine since the incident, which was pretty hard considering that Laine liked almost everything I liked and Elizabeth always followed him, so I couldn't play volleyball or go get ice cream or go to the carnival because they were always there. I even had to pretend I was sick when Laine tried to come into my room. Yup....success. But I have noticed lately that Elizabeth and Laine have grown more distant toward each other, and it does make me wonder if they''ve broken it off with each other. My fingers are crossed. That she-devil doesnt deserve Laine at all!"

"Okay, so there's only three more days until my birthday and I really REALLY want to celebrate it with my friend, Laine so I know what I must do. I am going to talk to him and make sure he doesn't suspect I like him."
July 27, 1952 (Late afternoon)
"I found him playing volleyball with his friends. I didn't even have to approach him, as soon as he saw me there he stopped playing and yelled something in italian to his friends.
"Hey.." I said with what was probably an awkward smile plastered on my face.
"Sicily, where have you been!?" he said grabbing my shoulders. I opened my mouth to say something, but I was too shocked, nothing came out. Nothing needed to come out, he just kept talking.
"Do you know how worried I was? I thought you had left Venice in a fit of rage!" It was then that I had to stop him.
"Of course I didn't leave. I wasn't that upset" I said, laughing a little, but he didn't laugh with me. His expression was serious and that made me uncomfortable.
"Good, because you shouldn't take anything Lizzie say seriously"
"Speaking of Elizabeth...what happened to her? I mean, aren't you two always together?" I asked, half hopeful.
"Her? We broke up" He said as if it were nothing.
"What? Why? It wasn't because of me, was it?" I said that, but I was only half concerned. The truth was, I was actually happy. WEEEE!
"No no....kind of. She was jelous of you because we were such close friends" he explained. YES! TAKE THAT YOU WITCH, LAINE LIKES ME BETTERRRRR!!!
"Oh...well that's too bad" I said, faking remorse. "She seemed like such a nice girl...". Laine shook his head.
"Not really, she was a bitch" he said. My eyes widened and I had to cover my mouth from shock. Just to be sure no one had heard him, I quickly glanced around.
"What are you doing!? Someone could've heard you!" I loudly whispered. Laine laughed.
"Let's go play volleyball" He said with a smile. What dazzling teeth he has, I think I might start to drool. He started to go, but I grabbed his hand
"Just so we're clear...(Insert painfully awkward clearing of the throat here) I am.....not gay." I hoped I'd said that firmly. Laine tilted his head.
"Of course you're not. You would've said something if you were, right?" He said with a trusting smile. Great, now I feel like I'm decieving him.. kind of. It's not like I'm actually gay... o.0 I just happen to like this one person who just happens to be...male.
"Righhtttt..... let's go play volleyball!" I smiled.
And so we spent the rest of the morning playing volleyball. Although, I think I might've forgotten to mention my birthday...I'll tell him tommorow.
