she was always told to be happy and grateful for what she had. she didn't live in bad circumstances.
she had what was deemed as a perfect family, no troubles making ends meet, no fights or anything at all.
she wasn't expected to be perfect, but she was expected to be normal. i guess it's not much, but there were repercussions.
