Natasha just couldn't believe her luck. How had things turned so badly in just a matter of seconds? She knew that life was unpredictable but she had hoped that since she had suffered before life would have given her a break. What was she to do now? She had no money, food, a place to live and now no one to turn to. Everything was not going the way she wanted it to. She had prayed hard and long, asking for her life to be blessed but once again it turned out to be cursed. For these recent years she knew she wasn't happy with her husband but she tried her best to be. She blamed it all on her depressed mood and the both of them trying to cope with the disappointment of the miscarriages but now she knew she had refused to open her eyes and see everything for what it was. Just a nightmare, disguised as a fairytale that she had to wake up from.
"Tasha..." whispered a voice. She looked around and noticed that she was still standing at the same position her mother left her in. She was suspended in shock and disbelief.
"Tasha..." the voice whispered again and this time she recognised it for who it was.
Her stepfather.
"I didn't do it." She sobbed. Samuel saw the anguish on her face and knew that she didn't do it. His little girl was always misunderstood and met with hardship along the way. What he couldn't wrap his head around was the way his wife, her mother, had just treated her. Even at his age of forty three he still dreamt of one day having a child of his own and yet here was a parent giving up on hers as if it wasn't a big deal.
He took her in his arms and envisioned the same way he used to hug her when she was young. The way he used to feel like a dad protecting his own daughter. Even though she never said that one word he always wanted to hear from her. He knew that she loved him just as much as he loved her and he wasn't going to let her suffer but then again she wasn't his by blood and his wife would make sure to remind him about it if he helped her. Yet he didn't care!
"I know honey. You would never do such a thing to him."
"I love him so much and yet he thinks so little of me. What am I supposed to do now?" she sobbed clutching her chest as if she was in physical pain. By the way she was clutching it she must have been in physical pain and all he could do was just hold her and pray to the heavens that she pull herself together.
"You going to carry on with your life and make something of yourself. I know that right now it feels like the end of the world but you don't need him."
Natasha looked at the man she admired all her life. This man, her father, the most important man in her life right now. She felt ashamed because at some point in her life is seized being the most important man in her life. She was just so in love and a bloody fool for believing in Trevor. She cared so much about what Trevor wanted and needed in his life that she neglected the one man that was always by her side.
Maybe that the reason why her mother never seemed to love her...
...because her Stepdad, Samuel, loved her like a father should love his child. He showed so much affection towards her that it might have ticked her off. Looking at him right now she was thankful because, even though her mother had abandoned her she still had Samuel by her side.
"I don't have anywhere to go." stated Natasha, only remembering now that she was now homeless
"Here, take these." He gave her keys "I still own the house in Boksburg. I know it's not much compared to the place you've been living in but it's something." He said
"Thank you." She was beyond cried out at the moment. She knew she could count on him but was still a little ashamed to even ask for help. He saw right through it and gave his help before she asked. She honestly didn't give a damn about how the place looked like. All she cared about was the help she got from him and knowing that she had a roof over her head for the time being.
All was not lost after all but Natasha was not at her right state of mind to even think further than having a place to stay. She took her belongings and called for uber to take her to her new home. This was now her life and she was having a hard time wrapping it around her brain. She was having a hard time figuring why Trevor had changed so much over the last year. That's when he had started being violent with her, at first it was just a mean comment here and there and then with time those mean words turned into fists. All Natasha could think about while on her way to Boksburg was "What did I do wrong?" she had no idea.
She was stuck in a situation that she didn't wish her worst enemy on. Something that Trevor was guilty of and she let go, but now as innocent as she was there was no proof to prove that she was innocent of what she was being accused of. She would never have cheated on Trevor. She loved him with all her heart even though he put her through shit the last year. They had been happy the first two years of their marriage. She had been the envy of women all around when they saw how royally he treated her but then everything changed and all that happiness seemed to have been clouded by darkness. Natasha didn't exactly know the moment it all changed but she knew the day it all changed when the force of the slap vibrated through her nerve, blinding her in tears and leaving her momentarily deaf. All she knew to be the truth was a lie and she had no one to blame but herself because she chose to stay with him.
What a fool she was!
Uber dropped her off by the house and she took her belongings. She just wanted to take a shower and go to bed. It had been a long exhausting day and she felt physically drained yet she knew that she would be awake all throughout the night. She took out the keys and opened the place only to be greeted by a homey feel and a clean place. It was exactly the type of scene she was craving right now.
All of this just didn't make sense to her. How was it that she was being accused of adultery?
Seth? Seth? Who the hell was he?
She had never seen him in her life and yet he wished she had committed adultery with him instead. She was never told of another brother in the family. She had met all of his family but none had ever mentioned a Seth. Natasha was curious that's for sure and she wanted to know but right now wasn't the time to dwell on this she tried to convince herself. Yet while she was preparing for bed all she could think about was Trevor. She still loved him and yet he didn't hesitate to throw her away from his life. She should have known better than to think that life was finally working out for her.
She had been living in the silence and the storm finally came with a raging force and hit her right where she was the most weak and vulnerable...
Her heart.
