Chapter 6

So. We have a new band song, and its about a train chase during civil war times. The band is basically the train, the snare and bass drum are the engine, and guess what I am?

I'm not even on the train, I'm the train bell, on the waiting dock/port thing that signals that the train is about to leave. I play 2 measures by myself and every time, everyone just looks at me and gives me a thumbs up, and I give them one back.👍👍👍

↓It's Tuesday ↓ (I don't know if I made that clear in the last chapter)

Marinette POV

"What?" That was the only word that I could say, because my mouth and brain weren't working. That's when it hit me.

The reason Adrien always seemed nervous is because he loves me. That's why he was always blushing when I talk to him. That's why he has millions of pictures of me in his bedroom. It's all because, he. . .he. . . he loves me.

"I knew I shouldn't have told you. It's OK, you don't have to go with me today if you don't want to. You probably think I'm just like all the other fans you have. I'll. . . I'll go now." He started to get up and gather his stuff, but I grabbed his wrist. He turned and looked at me with a sad look in his eyes.

"WAIT!!!" I suddenly yelled, trying to get as much of his attention as possible. I pulled him back down, and he gently set his stuff back onto the ground. "This all makes so much more sense! Now I understand why you were always nervous around me, why you always blushed and stuttered around me! It was because you. . .you. . .love me."

Another wave of reality came and hit me square in the face: Adrien loves me, but I love Lady beetle. I'm going to have to tell him I don't love him back. He might get akumatized!

OK Marinette. Just hang out with Adrien right now and worry later. Hanging out will make him feel better.

Adriens sigh snapped me back out of my trance. "Yeah. Is. . .is that. . .a. . .bad thing? Did I make it awkward? Oh no, I made it awkward and now you'll never talk to me again and we'll never go to the carnival–"

I interrupted him, because he was being absolutely CRAZY. "Adrien, do you have a loose screw? Because I would never stop talking to you for something like that. You should know that."

"So, does that mean that you still want to go today?" Adrien asked.

I got up, grabbed my stuff, and turned back to Adrien. "Yeah! I heard you say the word 'carnival'. Is that where we're going?" I excitedly asked.

Third Person

Adrien also got up, gathered his belongings, and answered Marinettes question. "Yup! It's going to be really cool."

"I hope so, because I've never been to a carnival before. Maybe when I was little-probably with my mom-but besides that, I've never been with a friend. It'll be my first time going." The girl answered, a bit of sadness laced into her voice.

The blonde sensed that, and, of course with his love for her, tried to make her feel better.

"Well, I promise that you'll have a fun time. Now let's get out of here before Mr. Damocles or the janitor start yelling at us."

Marinette giggled, starting to feel better, and Adrien felt as though he was in heaven.

Her laugh, it's the most beautiful thing I've ever heard.

"Thank you, Adrien."

"Wait what? Did I say that out loud?"

The bluenette simply nodded, and she tugged Adrien's hand, so that they could get going.

                                |~|~|

The annually held carnival was taking place all around the Eiffel Tower. As the pair walked to the carnival, they were engulfed in silence. Not an awkward silence, but a comfortable one.

Marinette was thinking about the situation with Adrien falling in love with her, and Adrien thinking about what he had just said and how it would affect their friendship.

"Looks like we're here!" Marinette stopped thinking about the Adrien-is-in-love-with-her-but-she's-not situation, and looked ahead.

"Wow," Marinette breathed. "this is amazing! I've always seen the carnival on TV, but never in person! It's so. . .so beautiful!"

She was in awe by all the booths, games, and decorations. Even the legs of the Eiffel were decorated as far as they could go.

Adrien was also amazed. Yes, it had gotten more beautiful this year, like it does every year. But what he was really focused on and awed with was his blue eyed angel, Marinette.

With his cheeks tainted a light pink, he complimented his pretty princess.

"Do you know what's even more b-beautiful than the carnival?" She shook her head. "I p-personally think it's y-you." He was back at it again with the stuttering. At least it wasn't on every word, he thought.

"Adrien, you're so sweet to me! Thank you! I. . .think you're kind of cute too." She shyly admitted.

His cheeks were similar to color of Nathaniel's hair, and Marinettes were dusted lightly.

Why did I say that? I don't like Adrien that way, but he is pretty cute, Marinette thought.

"W-well, uhm, let's go rent a locker to keep our school stuff in." Adrien said, the compliment that his sweet princess gave him making him very nervous.

"Y-yeah, o-okay."

They walked to a tent, under it a couple rows of lockers. Adrien pulled out his wallet, and started looking for loose change. Marinette noticed and put her hand on top of his hand, stopping him from looking for money any further.

"Mm mm. Nope. You are NOT paying for this locker. No buts, I'M paying."

"Bu-"

"I SAID NO BUTS!"

Adrien was a little surprised, but soon was over it.

Some people looked at the pair, but did not say anything, ultimately.

The bluenette went into her Dupain-Cheng designed purse, and took out her wallet. She then proceeded to take out one singular euro.

She put the money in the slot at the kiosk, and the machine printed out a code for her to type into the lock.

She did so, and the locker opened. They both put in their belongings into the 'stuff holder' as Marinette liked to call it in her head.

Every last thing except for their wallets and purse went into the stuff holder.

"Well, let's go have some fun!"

"YEAH!!!"

Sorry about the short chappie, I just wanted the actual carnival and love– oh did I say love? I actually meant. . .uhh. . .FUNNEL CAKES!

Anyways, I wanted it to be a different chapter.

Help me I have volleyball practice with people I don't like.

PEACE OUT! 😎✌
