Please forgive me for misspelling names, and getting some facts wrong. This is my first Inuyasha fanfic, and well... I haven't finished the Anime yet, so I'm writing this as I go. My information could be wrong. Sorry :/ Any help with corrections would be a blessing!

Also, If someone says something wrong, I apologize. I'm using a website for the transcripts since my memory is horrid!

-Years ago...-

"Tora! Come away from there!" I turn towards my grandmother Kaede with a sigh. She never lets me go into the forest.

"Grandmother, I just want to play!" She sighs, her graying hair swaying in the breeze.

"Yee must not go near the Sacred Tree! Promise me!" She exclaims, fear slightly showing in her voice.

With my arms behind my back, hiding the crossed fingers, I smile. "Of course! I promise!" Grandmother nods before turning back around, heading to her garden. With a smile and a leap in my step, I wander into the forest.

Mother used to tell me stories of the forest, and why children couldn't go there. Something about a Half-Demon and a Priestess having a fight.

I think it was just a myth though. If the Priestess won, and beat the demon, wouldn't it be even safer there than in the village?

My thoughts are interrupted when I come across the Sacred Tree. Eyes going wide, I gawk at the sight of a man with white hair stuck to the tree by an arrow. From the top of his head, I see dog ears.

I gasp and reach up to my own dog ears just barely poking through my wild mane of red hair.

If he was the Half-Demon mother spoke about... does that mean I'm a Half-Demon too?

-Current Time...-

Since my mothers passing 5 years ago, I've learned many things from Kaede. The stories of our past, healing herbs, how to fight with a bow and sword, and most importantly, who I was.

It was said that my mother vanished for one year, and returned with me already born and in her arms. She swore up and down that I was her child, and being the granddaughter of a great priestess, everyone had left me alone.

My mother never told anyone who the father was, or what kind of Demon he was, not even me.

Kaede helps keep my anger in check, to make sure that I won't hurt anyone. But by doing that, I have no idea what I'm truly capable of.

I'm torn from my thoughts as the shouts of a female draw closer. My job in the village is to make sure no one goes near Inuyasha, the Half-Demon stuck to the Sacred Tree. Or, that's what Kaede and everyone else thinks.

Most of the time I sit near him and talk about life and what's going on. I'm sure he can't hear me, but it makes me feel better.

I watch this woman in strange clothing pause at the tree, only to jump over to Inuyasha and rub his dog ears. Worried that she would release him, I send the signal out to the villagers, a quick and short whistle.

It wasn't long before they came and surrounded her. Before she even knew what happened, I had her tied up for the villagers. The older I became, the more I pictured my father as some type of Cat Demon, and not Dog Demon that Kaede suspects. My speed and reflexes being one of the main reasons.

One of the villagers, Kage, walks up to me. "Lady Tora, will you be staying here?" With a blink and a nod, I confirm his suspicions, and walk back to the tree, almost blending in with the bark.
