"The best swordsman does not fear the second best, he fears the worst since there's no telling what that idiot is going to do."- Mark Twain
The crisp night air filled my lungs as I took a deep breath. I watched as a Grineer ship flew over my head. Oh, and by lungs, I meant my Warframe's air sensors. But I could still feel it from the somatic chamber in the orbiter. The Grineer were giving us trouble about some Tenno trade routes, and I was assigned to put a dent in theirs, as a little gift of appreciation. I had been directed to take care if the population of a certain Grineer base on Earth. I wanted a little more than to just halt the flow of resources for them. There had been talk around the system, like the Bazar, or Orcus, of a special project the Grineer eggheads were working on, codenamed "Fomorian". We had no idea of what it was. The only ones who knew what it was just happened to be ex-Grineer. Or dead. Well, that figures, doesn't it? I didn't want to let The Lotus down, especially after what she did for all of us Tenno, in the accident.
In the mission briefing, Lotus mentioned of a few data vaults that were stationed at our location of interest. If found, I was to infiltrate them and take what data was held inside. Maybe, we could find a little something out about Mr. Tengus' little operation he had going on. Oh, that's right. Supposedly, the man-in-charge was Tengus himself, the Grineer Mad Scientist. That damned infested piece of shit. Him thinking he could mess with the infestation, and wield it as the Grineer's own Bio-Weapon against us Tenno. What a fool he was.
Off in the distance, I heard voices. I wasn't fluent in their backward language but I was able to decipher the jist of what they were saying.
"Dr. Tengus' project should be yet done."
"Give it time, the machine will surely prevail in the war against those Tenno."
"I tire of this, brother, victory must be close, no?"
"True. You know we are guarding the final plans now. We will surely win this needless war."
That was all I needed to know, and before they knew it, my razor-sharp Glaive Prime had already decapitated their heads from their gruesome cloned bodies.
My signature weapon, a little something I had picked up from Baro Ki' Teer. Didn't have to pay anything but supposedly 'a Tenno owing you a favor isn't worth all the credits in the galaxy'.
Lotus came over my comms, "Tenno, what was that those guards said?"
"Something about Dr. Tengus' project. The plans are being housed here."
"Interesting, Tenno. Engage, and see if you can manage to capture those plans. It is vital to the war effort."
"Understood," I replied.
I wasn't afraid of the mission, but something about the project seemed to pull at my mind. If Tengus was able to manipulate Biology, and unleash the Infested, than what else was that damn fool capable of? And where the hell was he now?
