To my wonderful dad,
The hero I did not ask for, but always had,
No matter the situation, however bad,
Always there for me, whether I was happy or sad.
Never asking for anything in return,
Always overlooking, my every step, every turn,
For my dreams, his ambitions he would burn,
Teaching me everything with love, until I'd learn.
My guardian angel,
Because of him, today I am,
Oh father! your love, your sacrifices,
I cannot imagine, I cannot understand.
I cannot repay you no matter what mountain I overturn,
I will never forget the things for me you've done,
No matter what comes in life,
You will always be my number one.
One day I hope to make you proud,
No matter how old you grow,
You stand with your chest high even in a crowd,
You've taught me everything I know.
Even as the years go by, and you grow old,
Dear dad, I will always treasure your heart of gold.
