"I'm going to get you, Kamryn." said Mason as he swung an alcohol bottle at me, and it shattered. I started running away. It was always like this. Mason used to be a sweet boyfriend. He used to give me flowers, take me out to eat, etc. That was before he became an alcoholic. That's when he started abusing me, and like the wimp I was, I just stood there and let it happen.
I reached the end of the hallway. He started closing in on me. "You're going to pay." He said as he started to come closer. What happened was that when he came home from the bar as he did every night. I forgot to lay his Advil out for him because he always had awful hangovers. He hit me, and that's how tonight started. It seriously wasn't even that big of a deal, he probably just had a really bad night at the bar. He tends to get in a lot of fights.
He got to me. His hand reached up and I felt a very strong sting on the side of my face. He had slapped me, harder than he ever had before. At that moment, something in me snapped.
I pushed him out of the way, and I ran to the bedroom. I pulled the big suitcase out of the closet, and I packed all of my clothes and prized possessions. I left, but before I did, I took a look at Mason's face. It didn't look angry, just suprised and dumbfounded. I got in my car and drove away.
