Chapter 10

Pewds P.O.V

Marzia, I miss you so much but I would risk EVERYTHING for you. I’ll find you, I promise.  

“Pewds, stop daydreaming and get over here before they suspect us bro!” Cry half-whispers and half-yells at me.

As we snuck around room-to-room, we heard muffled sounds, like someone talking to a group of people in the next room. We decided to try to pass by the door but the door was half open so we had to backtrack and go a different way, this time downstairs to, what I thought, the basement. We heard footsteps approaching down the hall. Did they hear us?!  But before I could react, I was pulled into a closet with two guys, gladly it was just Ken and Cry. Two people... We heard this person say to the other,

“A freaking trap was triggered, must have been a rat.”

“Did you check the whole room?”

“Yeah I did, I didn’t stick around for too long though. That room gives me the creeps” They both started laughing but stopped in front of the closet door.

Our hearts stopped for a second.

“I thought I heard footsteps upstairs...Want to go check it out?”

“Nah, we can’t, remember? Boss’s orders, he says to patrol the halls and rooms, he said he was expecting a group of people. He was always weird. But hey, maybe we can get our hands on that woman he kidnapped!”

The other said in response. I felt the anger through my body, and I clenched my fists.

“She ain’t that bad. Come on, we gotta set up more traps…”The footsteps faded away.

As we tried to get out of the closet as quiet as possible, we were almost stuck because three men packed in a small closet isn’t easy. When we reached the middle of the hallway, we heard a loud thud from upstairs and a trap being triggered.

“Krism, Minx, and Yami are upstairs, I hope that was just a rat. Let’s go!” Ken says as we made our way back upstairs through a vent. We make it to a vent with a loose screw so we hopped down just in time to see a couple men run past the room we were in.

Krism P.O.V

I probably got a concussion from that smack in the head as I got pulled upside down...stupid freaking trap!  Minx caught me which prevented me from breaking something but once I stood back up, about 3 guys were piling in the room. Yami pulled out the dagger and stood in front of us, protecting us both but Minx didn’t like the idea of being protected so she pulls out her sword and stands next to me. I felt my powers rising and my red eye glowed. We see three pairs of eyes behind each one of the three guys and we barely see the action that happen in front of us. Pewds, Ken, and Cry knock out the three guys as fast as they could before they were able to alarm anyone. We hid in the darkness once again when we heard more footsteps,  I hid all three bodies in a corner while I hid in the other corner. I tried my best to control my anger

Two men walk into the room and I had an idea! I picked up one of the three men and used him as a puppet. I waved the (possibly dead)  guy’s arm saying with the manliest voice I could, “Ha Ha False alarm brothers, Just a goddamn racoon. Carry on with your guarding ways while I fix the trap up!” They both look at each other confused but didn’t have the time to react before Cry said some voodoo words and knocked them both unconscious.

“ I had a wonderful plan but no…” I say to Cry with a sarcastic voice. He just shrugs.

 

“Your plan wouldn’t work because your red eye is still glowing so they would have known it was you. Learn how to control it next time. So, guessing by your group still being three, nobody?” Cry says. I covered my eye and walked next to Minx, disappointed at my lack of control. Pewds sighed deeply.

We calmly walked down the corridor quietly. Just then, we all hear something banging on a wall, upstairs. Pewds hears the faint cry of Marzia’s voice.

“Marzia!” Pewds says as he runs down the hall.

We join him, running down the halls and up the stairs.
