"But you cant keep quiet forever Lillian. Life doesn't work that way you know. Lola can't get away with everything she wants .
Tanya Lawrence said as she folded her rumpled jeans on the bed and placed them in the scattered closet.
Lillian muttered an I know, barely staring up from the magazine she was reading. It's cover page read - How to be a successful introvert , clearly the perfect book for it's reader"
" When are you going to grow some ba..."
Tanya was cut off by the sound of the door shutting beind her. A strange terribly attractive figure strutted in. Her long blonde hair reached her waist although it was clearly fake as it held great contrast to her coppery skin . She was wearing a pair of black skinny jeans with a pink button up jacket and a pair of black ballet flats. Lillian disliked her at once.
"Hey"
Tanya said inching close to the new girl. Lillian on the other hand remained rooted to her bed and held her magazine tighter, avoiding any sort of communication.
"Hey my name's Ariana... You can call me Ari but some people call me Riri, I'm from New York. I'm actually meant to be in a lower class but I got a promotion so I had to change schools and..."
She went on talking and had a serious look on her face. Lillian watched her like a she was a human with two heads. The girl was definitely an extrovert, an extreme one by the looks of it. She was NOT Lillians kind of person.
Pretty soon, Lillian looked up from her magazine to find Tanya and Ariana painting nails and chit chatting like they had been childhood friends. She didn't know whether to shake her head or laugh hysterically at the drama unfolding before her.
"Wassup girls" brought Lillian out of her thoughts
"Kiara , come meet our new roomie. She's just like you"
Tanya said pulling Kiara towards the new girl. She shot Lillian a questioning glance and got the don't even ask face making her cautious of the new girl. Lillian never hated anyone but then again she never liked anyone so it wasn't shocking that she wasn't fond of the new girl. "
"Hey I'm Kiara"
"Hey I'm Ariana."
"OMG really? Like Ariana Grande? I love her like L O V E"
"I love her too" Ariana replied
And just like that they became friends.Ariana looked at Lillian. She had barely said a word to her since she had resumed about a week ago.
"Does she even talk?"
Ariana asked Kiara and Tanya when she thought Lillian was deeply engrossed in her novel.
"Of course I do." Lillian replied sharply, so sharp that an awkward silence followed after.
Trying to die down the awkwardness, Tanya answered
"She talks. She's just doesn't talk to a lot of people."
" No problem. I'm pretty sure she's going to love me like a sister soon. So tell me about yourself Lily"
Lillian cringed at the awful nickname (FYI I have no issues with that name) and looked at the newbie as she skipped happily towards her bunk. Everyone could see that she was irritated by the girls constant efforts to talk to her so why couldn't she.
"I'm Lillian. I'm a girl. I like black and purple"
"Cool I like purple too" she answered
Lillian snorted as she picked up her novel searching for the page she was on. She was astonished to see Ariana inspecting her.
"You're not going to talk to me anytime soon are you?"
"Probably not." Lillian was happy that she finally got it.
"Are you an introvert or clairvoyant?" Ariana asked getting annoyed at the uncooperative behaviour from Lillian.
"A little bit of both"
"I don't give up easily." she said flipping her blond hair
Lillian stared at the freaky girl as she walked to her bunk thinking about how she would survive living with such a person for a whole year. She glared and answered
" Neither do I"
The door opened abruptly and suddenly Iriya Preston, the all knowing school paper editor ran into the room like someone being chased.
" You guys wont believe what the Lola and her crew are up to."
Everyone jumped off their beds and raced after Iriya to the cafeteria.
