Ashley was a 16 year old girl. She is one of the 5000 on the ship "Savior". Earth is no longer inhabitable. The raimaining people split up into three groups, those who believed in the government and joined the Savior, those who believe the government was full of lies and chose to steal a ship and and those who didnt believe in either choosing to stay on Earth, the latter died. Ashley had long brown hair dark brown eyes. She was the average height and not in the slightest chubby. She has a younger brother and a mother. She did not know her father. He chose to stay on Earth, even before all this happened her parents didn't get along. Her brother was 6 and looked exactly like Ashley. His name was Ben. Her mother's name was Mary and she looked nothing like Ashley and Ben. She was blonde and had green eyes. Ashley and Ben took after their father, which was often a pain for Mary.
*beep beep beep*
Ashley awoke.
"Another alarm?"
She said bitterly. Mary entered the room.
"Mum what's with the alarm?"
"There's a drill on in an hour."
"I hate these drills."
"Yes I do too but they're for your safety, now get up or I'll have to send Ben in."
"Fine."
Mary left the room, smiling at how blessed she was to have such wonderful children with her. Ashley sat up. The alarm stated the time to be 6:30.
"If only Jacob was here."
Jacob was Ashley's old friend. When she was boarding the ship she lost sight of him. That was two months ago. She was very upset after that. Oh well best to get this drill over and done with. She got changed without any sense of urgency which resulted in slightly angering her mother. When she was well and ready for the day there was half an hour left until the drill.
"Mum may I look around and meet you at the drill when it's time."
"So long as you're careful and you make it on time."
"Don't worry I will."
"Ok love you."
"Love you too."
Ashley left and headed straight for the recreational area. This was where stuff like hobbies and games happened. Ashley enjoyed playing games she was really good at them. She played here for a while setting a new highscore at 560,000. She entered the letters ASHLEY and left. The bells for the drill rang loud. Ashley darted over to the assembly area. She was making her way over when she saw something familiar. She could have sworn she saw his dark brown hair. No it couldn't be. She would just pass it on as a mistake from glancing past people. Curiosity chewed away at her. She couldn't bear it any longer but just as she was moving towards the direction she saw, Mary pulled her away.
"Ashley we need to be over here!"
"But mum I need to see something."
"There's no time the drill is starting."
Ashley reluctantly followed. She would be destined to never know she thought. As they were going through the usual standard procedures she looked around hopelessly. She knew it couldn't be him. She had heard later that he chose to stay on Earth but it looked just like him. Then she saw it. Just across the room, with his mysterious half smile, Jacob.
