Ana's POV

When I landed in San Diego, I hailed a cab and headed home.
Dad welcomed me with a hug. I half hugged him and headed to my parents' bedroom. Mum was there sitting in her sofa.

"I'm home." I walked towards her and hugged her tightly.
"You should call your friend... what's his name? Finn. Your father invited him for dinner."

"I-I um, yeah. I sh-should call... him."

I headed down stairs and looked for dad. He was in his study doing some paperwork.

"Dad? Why did you invite Finn over for dinner?"

"He seemed nice." He smiled without looking me in the eye.
"Dad!"

"Yes, darling?"

"What if a serial killer told you he knew me and you invited for dinner just because he seemed nice?"
He laughed.

"Am I amusing you? Have you not seen American Psycho?!"

"What does Christian Bale has to do with your friend, Finn?"

"He was charming and a psycho, and he's not my friend."

"Christian Bale?"

"Finn! Finn's not a friend of mine."

"Honey, honey... Relax. I knew about you and Finn."

"You- what?"

"Come on. I know your friends stayed over. I know your now friends with this actress... Emma?"

"How would you know all this?"

"Anyone with internet access would know. I also know that you went to London and stayed with his parents and bought a watch for him, Hérmes. Great taste by the way."

"How did you know they stayed over?"

"My P.I. told me."

"Thanks for not trusting me."

"It's not about trust, it's just for your safety."

"Well, if your P.I. would've done a good job you would've know that Finn and I broke up."

"I didn't know that."

"Of course you didn't."

"I can't un-invite him now, that would be rude."

He put down his pen and stopped working.

"Why don't you take a seat?" He gestured me to sit in front of him.
"I know you didn't asked for my advice but I'm going to give it to you anyway..."

I nodded.

"If what you say is true, that you broke up with him... then I want you to look at the bigger picture. I don't know what happened between you two..."

There he goes.

"But... If he flew all they way from London is because he truly loves you. Don't you think?"

I rolled my eyes just because I didn't want to admit he was right.
"Now, go upstairs and look in your closet. Your mom and I brought you some presents."

I stumped my way out of dad's study and headed upstairs.

I walked into my closet and I saw a few bags on the floor. Chanel. Rag & Bone. Burberry. And of course Ferragamo.

I headed to my bathroom and took a quick shower. I was drying my hair when my phone vibrated. I checked it and I had a message from Daniel.

"I'm on my way. You better be home."
