Chapter 3 ~ Falling Slowly

I laid in the king size bed rubbing my eyes to help the blurry vision. Not wanting to wake up I started to wrap myself In the fluffy white sheets cool to my legs. Since the move in was all so sudden, Neymar let me borrow one of his shirts, it was the biggest shirt I had ever worn, he asked if I wanted a smaller one but the big one was comfy. I closed my eyes trying to fall back asleep. The rain was banging on the windows. Which didn't help at all. Instead I started thinking about last night. After the kiss we ate pizza and ice cream and went to bed after that as if nothing had happend. It was fun actully not akward at all. I didn't want to get up it was one of those days. A light knock came from the border of my door. I looked up, Neymar was standing there shirtless yawning. His Hair was all messd up which was an odd sight to me becasue whenever I saw him on ESPN his hair was perfect. "Time to wake up." his voice still raspy recovering from his sleep. I sat up, my shirt falling off my shoulder. Neymar walked in and fell on the end of the bed. "Comfy?" I said letting laugh come out of my muted voice. "yes very." He said smiling. He looked up at me and in the most wierdest way you could imagine he crawled to me and tucked himself in the covers. I didn't really mind. I reached for the black hair tie and my phone on the nightstand next to the bed. Looking through the endless amout of texts and calls on my phone from family and friends.  I sighed and mumbled "great" Neymar sat up close to me scratching his head. "What's the sarcastic great for?"  "Well I have to call back all these people back text these people back." I showed him and scrolled down. Seeing in the the corner of my eye his eyebrows raise. "and I have college homework and essays to do." At this time I decided to put my hair up as what I said sank in. "Keep it down." Neymar said still not losing his train of thoughts. "I'm not talking." I said stupidly Neymar laughed "no, your hair. You look pretty with it down." He looked up at me. I let my hair fall back into its messy curls. I looked at him and smiled while slightly shaking my head. "You do that a lot." Neymar sated pointing his fingers at my lips. "it's a habit." I replied. Both of our phones made a "ding" noise. Coach had texted us that practice was cancelled due to the lightning."So know what do you want to do?" Neymar asked. "Well I have a butt load of stuff to do." I replied annoyed. As I pulled away the covers. I walked into the large bathroom leaving the door open. "Why don't you just drop out of college if it's too much work? I mean you'll be making money by our next game?" he asked rolling around in the bed. I replied as I put the thin under armour headband in my hair, "Well soccer is my dream but not my parents, they've always wanted me to go to college become a doctor have a family and a normal life, I don't think they ever thought that I would make it this far in my career. So college is just for my parents." "Oh" he answered and paused for a second before talking again. "The hotel brought all your stuff last night, you were already asleep and I didn't want to wake you up. I'll go get it." He bolted out of my room coming back 5 minutes later. I poked my head out of the bathroom to see Neymar carrying all my stuff, including my guitar which made my eyes open wide. I ran to him grabbing it. "You could've asked for help ya' know." I said giggling. " I didn't need help." he replied. Walking back to "my" room I set my precious guitair on the side of the bed. Neymar set my stuff on the floor against the wall. I sat down net to it and opened the suitcase relieved that my little leather brown book was there. A sigh of relief escaped my mouth. "What's that?" Neymar asked "uh nothing. I should probably go change." I grabbed a white crop top and black shorts. I literally took only two seconds to change, when I came out I found Neymar on the bed holding the small book hovering above his face. "Hey!" I yelled jumping on the bed trying to snatch the book away from him. He was to quick and got off the bed. Neymar being taller than me held the book above his head. "Give it back!" I screamed "here" he gave in soon enough. Neymar grabbing my guitar. "Please don't play it." I said silently. "I'm not, you are." His voice gentle and sweet. I shook my head. Even as a kid I couldn't play in front of friends of family. He grabbed my book again and opened up to the last song. "This one." He said. Slightly embarrassed because maybe I had written that song for him, I slowly grabbed the guitar between us. Looking only at the wrinkled bed sheets. Strumming and plucking the delicate strings. My voice came out shakily and quiet. Neymar leaned close. "close your eyes, sing like I'm not here." I nodded my head. I began to play again. My mouth started to move as words poured out.

"The slightest words you said Have all gone to my head. I hear angels sing in your voice. When you pull me close feelings I've never known. They mean everything and leave me no choice.

Light on my heart, light on my feet light in your eyes I can't even speak. Do you even know how you make me weak.

I'm a lightweight. better be careful what you say. With every word I'm blown away, You're in control of my heart. I'm a lightweight easy to fall, easy to break. with every word my whole world shakes. keep me from falling apart."

If I sang anymore I would have passed out right there. I looked to see Neymar grinning at me. "What?" i asked suspiciously. "nothing" he replied still smiling. "C'mon lets make waffles!" excitement in his voice. We ran down the stairs together. By the time we were done making the abnormally shaped waffles both of our faces were covered in flour. Looking at each other we both broke out laughing. Neymar ripped a paper towel and started to wipe my face. "nothings coming off" Neymar asked confused. "Because you have to wet it." laughing I grabbed a new paper towel and held it under the sink. I turned around gently wiping the flour of his face. I could feel him looking at me. "There." I said perky now let me get my mask off. I turned back to the sink and quickly splashed water on it wiping it down. Cutting the odd looking waffles in half as we tried them. Making unsatisfied faces we both spit out the doughy waffles. Settling just for sandwiches. As I was making the sandwich, Italian music started playing in the background. Neymar tapped my shoulder. "Wanna dance?" holding his hand out. Smiling I grabbed it not expecting him to spin me around. "I didn't know you could dance." I said trying to out power the loud music. "I can't" neymar replied. His eyes locked into mine slowly we both pulled into each other. The moment was interrupted by the to familiar noise of our phones.

Practice is at 10:00 today since the weather has cleared up.

"When is the game?" I asked Neymar. "Saturday." he replied "That's tomorrow! We've only had one practice I can't play I won't be ready!" I went on worried. "you'll do fine. You weren't picked to sit on the bench. Your an amazing player." He said calming me. We decided to eat our sandwiches and start to get ready due to practice being we had to be at the fields in 30 minutes.
