He raised his head from his paper, looking up at the clock that seemed to teasingly loom above him as if to say "i'm up here whilst you're stuck down there", or "i'll move my hands extra slowly just to get you mad"...

uhh okay that's weird

The boy snapped out of his weird clock analogies and focused back on the work in front of him that had to be done. His left hand fiddling with the drawstrings on his navy hoodie, he continued to write. The time passed painfully slow as each ticking sounding from the clock seemed to echo throughout the classroom. 12:45pm. Just 10 more minutes... he thought, sighing quietly under his breath. The room was quiet, which was quite unusual as normally the class was buzzing with chatter and noise, especially from his friends. But now all that could be heard was pen on paper and the typing of keyboards, probably because their teacher had said it was for homework if they didn't complete it today. Except the thing was he couldn't think, the thought of lunch was swimming in and taking over his mind. Therefore he couldn't help by gaze around at the classroom in front of him. He sat at the back of the room like he did in every class, with his friends sitting next to him. He glanced around at the desks next to him, he only had a few friends in this class, so they didn't take up the whole back row. His eyes caught sight of a boy at the very end of the row, sitting right next to the window. He managed to just make out the light brown colour of his eyes, and the sunshine seemed to dance in them as he sat there examining the boy's features. Looking at his build, the boy didn't look like a jock like he was, but that didn't mean he wasn't bad to look at, in fact he was pretty beautiful, he had to admit. The boy turned his head, both of them making eye contact for over a good three seconds and he felt something like his heart leap. The boy turned back to gazing out the window. What was so interesting that he was looking at? he thought. He couldn't really say anything he thought, he was staring at a boy he didn't even know the name of-

"Jeno?" came an older female's voice that was stern yet slightly kind at the same time.

He snapped out of it. "Wha- oh, yes?"
"This is an independent task, so there is no need to look at others."
Jeno looked down, realising and embarrassed at being caught by his teacher. "Yes, sorry."
He glanced over one more time and the boy gave him a small smile.

Jaemin sat at the back of the class and gazed out the window like he always did. He never worried about getting in trouble since the teacher liked and trusted him. The main reason she trusted him was probably because he always got his work done, so there was no need for her to worry. The clock above the white board read 12:45pm. 10 minutes left. He had given up on writing and went to looking out the window. He could just finish it at home any way, it gave him something to do. He got the sense someone was watching him, though it didn't bother him too much as it was probably just the teacher. He looked back from the window to the classroom and saw one of the jocks, Jeno, looking at him. That was strange, he didn't usually do that, well no one did really, Jeno was usually in some conversation with his friends whether it be inside or outside the classroom. He dismissed it lightly and went back to looking out the window. Mid-Autumn had arrived and it was getting colder, meaning everyone had to start wearing long sleeves and pants. The leaves were all orange, red and golden and had fallen off the trees, Jeno thought they were really beautiful, and covered the ground in thin sheets of crunchy leaves that he would be sure to step on later.

"Jeno?" He turned his head at the sudden noise as it had been quiet for most of the lesson, though none of the other students did, probably because they were determined to finish their work in time. He watched as Jeno stuttered. "Wha- oh, yes?"
"This is an independent task, so there is no need to look at others." Jaemin chuckled under his breath.
"Yes, sorry."

His lips drew into a smile as Jeno looked at him again once the teacher finished talking. He's a weird kid, he thought.
