"Good practice girls. I think yall are ready for the competition Saturday. You'll cream the rest of the teams." Coach Henderson said with the highest amount of enthusiasm. Our coach was that type of lady that always had something nice to say no matter how bad we did. She's that mom that we never really had, or the person we always dreamed to be.

She was beautiful. Her hair blonder then a Barbies but not ugly. Skin so tan it looked like she tanned every hour of the day but it was all natural. Amazing! She wasn't your average cheer coach though.

She never wore track suits like coaches on televisions do. She was always in style. Bright or neon colors were her thing. Our practice outfits had to be colorful. If we would wear black shorts our shirt had to be brighter then the sun. Our uniforms were the only things not neon or bright. Coach Henderson hated that but she learned to live with it.

"Kelsey can I speak with you for a moment?" Coach yelled.

"Sure coach." I said as I walked over there. I knew what she wanted to talk to me about. All the girls on the squad has already turned in their cheer money and permission form for summer camp except me. School was almost over and coach wanted all the girls there. She said 'I want all your pretty little faces there when I call role.'

"Kelsey, I bet you know what I'm going to ask you. Don't you?" Coach said with a look of disappointment. Looking me dead in the eye.

"Yes mam' I believe I do. I still have not turned in my camp money and permission form. Is that correct?" I said as I started squinting my eyes cause the sun decided to shift on my ass. And it wouldn't be right putting my hand over my forehead cause then I'd just look weird.

"Yes, that is correct. Why have you not turned your form and money in. You have gone to camp ever since you were an 8th grader. You can't just skip out on it this year. Your a junior. You, Sophie, and Madison are the only 3 juniors on this squad. All the other girls look up to you. You can't just skip camp. That wouldn't be a very good example you'd be setting."

Oh my god. What the fuck did coach think she was gonna do. Guilt talk me until I finally say, oh yeah. What was I thinking not going to camp this year. Shoot I really messed up. Sorry Coach Henderson.... Fuck no she isn't going to get me to say that so she might as well stop. She's a nice person and all but when it comes to what she wants, she'll do anything to get it.

"I know coach. Your right. This isn't setting a good example for all the other girls. I will turn my form and money in as soon as possible." I said as I was walking away.

"Ok sweetie. Thank you. I'm glad you see it my way." Coach Henderson yelled.

I walked over to Sophie cause me and her were gonna go to the mall and shop for a prom dress at DEBS. Sophie and I are the only ones out of the 3 of us that get to go to prom this year cause we have senior dates.

"Oh my god. What was that about. Thats the most disappointed face I've ever seen Mrs. Henderson have." Sophie said curiously. She looked kinda sweaty cause we had to work hella hard for the competition. But still pretty. Sophie was voted the prettiest girl in the whole school.

"She's complaining cause I'm the only girl on the squad that hasn't turned my form and money in for camp this summer."

"Wait. Oh hell no. I know you are not about to skip out on camp this year. You promised you would go. This would be the first year the all 3 of us get to go together." Sophie told. Her face expression was priceless. "Don't bail. Please!"

"Sophie! I really wanna go. It would definitely give me something to do this summer but..."

"But what?!" Sophie yelled before I even got to finish the sentence. She did that all the time. It really annoyed me sometimes, but that was her. You learned to live with it.
