It was a beautiful night outside in the beautiful woods of Mobleysville, South Carolina. Two girls ventured outside of the safe confines of their home to stargaze when they suddenly felt drawn into the dark woods. They wandered for what seemed like miles, when they came across a branch of the creek they played in as a child. This branch seemed new and the waterfall current was strong. They walked along the seemingly new branch of their creek and a waterfall came into view. They felt compelled to swim into the waterfall and when they went behind it, they saw a beautifully structured, seemingly man made pool of dazzling blue water. They floated peacefully in the pool for hours, gazing up at the stars and the moon. Suddenly, the water turned dark, almost black and began boiling. The water was warm like a hot tub. The girls glanced at each other in mild concern. Serena felt her legs go numb and she felt herself being pulled under the water. Serena met Lindsey's eyes as they both yelled out in panic as they were pulled underwater. Serena opened her eyes as she struggled to swim back up to the surface but she felt weighed down. She looked down in the now clear water, and to her astonishment she saw.. a long fish tail? She screamed as she writhed to get to the surface. Finally she mustered enough strength to break the surface where she was met by a terrified Lindsey.

"W-what is going on?" Serena asked shakily. Lindsey said nothing, staring mutely at the long fish tails they had. Where were our legs??? We sat in silence for a few minutes, not breaking eye contact with these strange things that were now where our legs once were. Finally Serena began trying to pull herself out of the water. Lindsey followed suit and they sat there in shock and waited for something else to happen. By this time, the moon went behind the clouds and Lindsey and Serena shakily try to get up. These things were very heavy! The fish tails vanished. The girls scrambled to their feet in alarm, quickly looking for an exit. They felt along the walls when Serena felt a raised rock. She squeezed it and nothing. She pulled, and nothing. She pushed it, feeling hopeless when the sound of scraping rocks could be heard. Lindsey and Serena jumped back in alarm when a pathway was suddenly visible. They stepped into it wearily and began walking back home. They reached the house when the sky just began getting light. Serena and Lindsey quickly scrambled into the house and practically leaped in bed, hoping the next day would be like nothing happened.
