Milo's POV

Fake a smile. That's all I have to do.

"Babe, do something weird...just don't smile." My girlfriend Holiday said, pulling a face at the camera.

"Fine," I said, sticking out my tongue.

SNAP.

Yeahhhh, she was gonna post it on Instagram. Why am I feeling this way around her? One movie and I'm already distancing myself from her. I mean, Holiday's a nice girl, it's just I don't really feel anything there anymore. I wish I did, but I don't.

"Hey, are we going to Carla's party tomorrow?" She asked, swiping, and typing on her phone.

"Who are you texting?" I asked, crossing my arms.

She blushed. A guilty look spread across her face.

"Nobody, just my mom" She lied to me.

I guess I had to let that one slide for now.

"Oh, okay."

"You didn't answer my question." She said, bluntly.

"Ah, yes. No, we're not. We are going tonight, she changed the date." I told her.

"Oh, I can't make it tonight."

"Why?" I asked out of curiosity.

"B-because...I have to... help my mom, she's sick" I eyed her suspiciously, I didn't believe a word.

"Oh, alright."I sighed.

Her mom wasn't actually sick. I'd seen her this morning. She was as healthy as a celery stick. Great one, Holiday.

Holiday's POV

"B-because...I have to... help my mom, she's sick" He looked at me. A face full of suspicion. This is it. I'm done for.

"Oh, alright." He sighed.

I sighed with relief. He actually believed me. What an idiot? I smiled, with pleasure when I knew he'd believe my mom was ill. She wasn't. My mom was as healthy as fruit.

Thanks for being so naive babe.
