❝ the moon is her friend, her twin sister through which its comeback brings forth solace and anticipation to a longing heart

▬▬▬█ ▌ NEW MOON ▐ █▬▬▬
The sky was darker than ever. The nightsky stretched over the city like a blanket embracing a sleeping child. The crickets sounded like a song of lullaby, lulling the city to sleep.
I watched over it from the mountains. A pair of red eyes acting like a guard. I tried to remain steadfast while the cold night wind was blowing hard as it brushed through my snow-white fur.
I didn't mind.

I looked over the city for another moment before turning my gaze back to the dark sky. Stars glittered the vast space so magnificently beautiful. But it's still missing something— an ethereal beauty nowhere to be found.
"She's arriving."
I was disturbed from my thoughts, when from the back I heard a familiar voice. I turned around just to see another wolf-like creature dazzled in white and blue fur.
"Father," I muttered as I kneeled and bowed my head as a sign of honor and respect. His cold blue eyes stared at me. Her white fur highlighted with the color similar to his eyes overshadowed mine.
"What are you doing here?"
"Waiting for her arrival, father."
"In a wolf-like form?" He asked, a soft chuckle escaped from his mouth.
I slightly shook my head and gazed at the sky. "You told me, I should never let them see my godly form though. Here I am, an obedient daughter, obeying your orders."
A short moment of silence reigned before Zeleus spoke again and said, "She's coming very soon... Your sister, themoon."
"Are you ready?"
"I am ready for her return, father." I said with confidence and joy obvious from my tone of voice. I do. I always am.
"But you're greatly aware of what happens upon her arrival, aren't you?"
I moved my gaze to him before replying, "As what I've said, I am ready for it, father."
"You are," he said, "But how about them?" He gestured towards the city below and I followed his gaze.
No words of response escaped from my mouth for a short while. Zeleus said no further words as well, as if he was patiently waiting for what I would say.
I heaved a sigh and looked up at the sky before saying, "They should be."
"After all, this is their chance to redeem themselves."
