Ross was awoken by the announcements playing outside his house. He groaned and slowly got up, listening in to the speakers outside. "Scav' team two, prepare for collection then head up to the main deck." 

Ross was on scavenger team seven, there were ten teams in all, five sent out each day. The house he lived in had metal walls and wood floors, orange-brown pipes running across the walls and ceiling, all surfaces covered in polished stone, the entire room dimly lit, a desk sat in the corner next to a bed, a dresser on the opposite wall. Ross opened his front door, the announcements still blaring. Outside, the tunnel was dimly lit as well, strings of small lights stretched from wall to wall, other houses identical to Ross' lined the "housing tunnel" that lead to the market area. 

Ross walked down the tunnel until the tunnel poured into a much larger cave, lights strung in tangles across the high ceiling, market stalls carved into the walls, large planters for food on the far side of the cave, large wooden poles stuck up from the ground with speakers on them. People flooded the marketplace, all wearing similar clothes to Ross, who was wearing a worn, brown long coat, darker brown long pants and black boots. He soon joined the crowd and walked with the crowd.
