((Alex's POV))
The light dimmed through the little part of the tent that hung over lazily. There was water droplets slowly going down and onto the mattress. It plopped onto my forehead, but not too much of it was there. Anyway it still bothered me.
I sat up lazily and rubbed my eyes. Trying to get used to the giant ball of fire that sat outside of my comfortable little cave. The blurry crusty feeling in my eyes.
The other side of the tent hung over lazily too and clearly someone could have seen me at any time in the night. I groaned to myself and flung my legs over the mattress, pulling the zipper up fiercely.
The zipper got caught in part of the tent. Sending my anxiety flying. "Ugh this is so stupid!" The zipper was getting more and more stuck and the air in my tent becoming harder to get. I had forgotten I didn't wanna be here. Basically looking at people helped me think I'd like it here. Now looking and feeling the way of this tent made me think otherwise.
My knuckles were white by now by frustration and exaggeration. I don't even know what I'm doing. They gave instructions on something I didn't care for or didn't listen to. I finally felt relieved when the zipper slipped out from its position. I finally zipped it up smoothly, my breath being easier now.
I turned over to walk, thinking things would be great now.. until I felt my weight go light, landing on the outside of my tent. I grabbed my leg and started mumbling random stuff to myself. The dirt getting on my shorts and a puddle being the only thing I could actually feel below me. Oh what a great day. I practically kicked the ground like a spoiled child.
"What the fuck is this kind of bull shit." I growled standing up and wiping the dirt off.
I heard giggling and footsteps when I met eye contact with Peggy. She walked over all dressed up. Her hair was curlier then it was yesterday and she seemed a little to curious about what happened.
"Oh woah" she said backing up a little with her hands out and laughing to herself. This is so ridiculous. I looked down at my shorts and my arms. They were splattered with droplets as well.
"Oh my gosh.." I groaned and started heading back inside the tent. I threw my shirt on the floor of it. Grabbing another, hearing a couple shuffles outside.
Peggy snorted."Ya changing your shirt helped a lot ham" she walked closer to me and pointed to my pants. I looked back at it and dirt was smeared all up my legs also.
"This is so amazing I'm honestly loving it here Peggy! Please sign me up next year." I said rolling my eyes sarcastically then going to change everything else this time. I put on a white shirt with jean shorts. Wearing a white shirt when their is mud everywhere is the best idea. I'm so smart. I wiped off my face and turned to go out of the tent.
Right when I got out I spotted that 'john' kid talking with Peggy and some other guys.
I pulled my shirt down a little then tucked what was left of my shoe string in my shoe, running over to them. Pretending Peggy and I were super close. Which was totally dumb considering the fact that I had no idea what was planned. Flirting and using someone I barely knew, as the main process, was not very intelligent either.
"Hey Alex." Peggy said patting my back. I groaned in pain from the fall and she just smiled bigger.
I huffed up and smiled warmly. Well this is awkward. The taller broad shouldered dude looked like one of the guys that are tough on the outside and really softly sensitive in the inside. The guy to play with butterfly's and adore ponies. And then the other guy beside him just seemed originally cool."Aye.." I finally had the dignity to speak. The john kid glaring at me with the same grin as always.
"Ahem, alex this is Lafayette, Laf, Hercules, herc, and oh my.. it's John" she pointed to everyone of them and which they returned there signature with a small, very small wave. Rude.
I wonder if they are good on there hands and knees.
Peggy coughed trying to bring our attention back, but I was too busy focused on other things. Like I don't know. Why does John look so hot? And why does it seem Laf and herc are dating? And why am I assuming someone's sexuality like that? What the Fuck is wrong with me?
"Well hopefully we all become friends! Now let's go get ready for the welcoming ceremony!" Peggy said quickly, trying to avoid the awkward tension between us four.
"Wait what?" I finally shot back to reality and it felt like all the weight in the world was pushed on me. John just stood there awkwardly while Laf and herc snickered amongst themselves.
"Well, since you're new you have to.. ya." John said trying not to laugh."Don't worry.. you'll just look stupid in front of a couple Idiots if you mess up anyways.." He was holding his hands together and wheezing inside. I wanted to go over their and smack whatever breath he was holding. But that'd be rude and he seems so fun to be around. So I kept what was awaiting on me and offered a small smile.
I felt Peggy nudge me."you're good at speaking in front of a crowd anyway alex. Wouldn't be new." With that she bounded down the sandy bank to where her sisters were. This is just great. Do they want me to humiliate myself on the first day? And they seemed pretty fond of this. Actually very chill.
"Good luck whatever your name is!" Laf said smiling. I smiled back and bent over in frog position thinking forward on things.
"It's alex.." I mumbled. It can't really Be that bad. Can it?
