Once upon a time, in a land full of teenagers, Starbucks, and books, there lived six girls; JC, Amy, Chloe, Lacey, Ellie, and Christa. Yet, with any fairy tale, there is an evil villain. That villain's name was Bridget. Bridget was a sweet girl, but then she was cursed by the need of popularity and power as she entered the torturous realm that is middle school. Though Bridget was a villain, the six other maidens did have almost, as it seemed at the time, unbreakable bonds with her. That is, until the curse was placed upon Bridget.
The curse only effected some villagers in the realm, and it targeted those who craved power. The need for power can turn the kindest hearts into the wickedest souls known to man. Bridget was one of the unfortunate souls to be turned wicked by the craving for power, brought on upon by the cruelest of maidens that roamed the halls of what was going to be their lives for the next three years. Once the curse has embedded itself into its victim, whom used to be a kindhearted person, there is no escape from the treacheries it will force you to do, all in the name of power and popularity. Yet in three years time, this curse may be lifted if you change your ways as you enter the new adventure that is high school. Some of those are not so lucky to escape the grasp of the curse and are damned to live this way for the rest of their high school days, until there is another opportunity for it to be lifted.
But now my friends, we are getting a little off track from our story of Bridget and the other six maidens. As we said before, the seven of these maidens were once friends, and it all started when JC and Bridget met. The two immediately hit it off and became very amazing friends. The next year, the others maidens and Bridget met, but this was before the curse was descended upon her. Throughout the next few months, Amy started to realize that the curse had chosen its victim, and began to do its damage on Bridget. Though it started off slowly with minor comments and name calling, it quickly escalated to backstabbing, lying, gossip, and exclusion.
One effect of the curse is believing that they are always right, no matter how wrong they truly are, as the victim is viewed by the other maidens. The curse blinds them of reality and places them into their own fantasy. Bridget has chosen a path that she cannot recover from. She is damned to live this life, unless she can change for a better cause.
Though we cannot predict the future, one thing is for certain....Bridget will not change, not in the maidens' eyes. For she will always crave her power over others, crave the attention of others, and look down on those who challenge her ways. For we truly know Bridget, for the monster that she has become. Sadly, the maidens no longer can see the old Bridget anymore, but will never truly fear the new one.
Watch out, you might know a maiden or two being affected by the curse.
