She paced anxiously by the doors. Hours had passed, to no avail. No sign of him, thats because he wasn't coming. And deep down, she knew that, she just wasnt ready to admit that. So she still paced anxiously waiting for him to appear. To keep his promises to her just one more time. She had promised herself weeks ago that it would be just one more chance, just one more time. Lies, and she knew that too. Every time she tugged at the threads of hope he'd dangle just out of her reach, the strings in her heart would unravel.
"You should be getting back to your room Ms.Scott, its too late for a young woman such as yourself to be out the time of night." Smiled Professor Williams as he locked the campus doors. "Oh, yes Professor, but I think ill stay just a bit longer." She sighed
"Are you sure? I can give you a ride back to the dorm rooms." he offered, she almost took him up on it too, yet she couldn't, she had to wait for Cole.
"I couldn't burden you." She gave him her best 'im all right' face, and returned to pacing after he disappeared to his car.
"Fuck it." She sighed biting her lip to fight tears as the clock on her phone gave a ding to symbolize it was 11 o'clock.
She had to get back though, she had to finish her term papers. But she wouldnt get home before midnight if she was to walk along the sidewalk. She pulled her hood up and stopped for a moment to think about what she could do. She could call a cab, but her wallet was in the dorm. She could phone a friend for a ride, but everyone within range would be studying for midterms. Her last resort would be to go through the woods, she had known the older college kids had made trails through the woods leading to the meadow, the river and to the dorms.
She stood there in the cold december weather and weighed her options in her head silently. Walking through the woods would take around forty minutes, but going along the sidewalks it would take over an hour.
'The woods it is.' she decided as she pulled up her hood and cut around the side of the school. 'im so screwed on these papers' she thought
Little did Alexandra know tonight was the night everything would change, tonight would change everything.
