Joshua is a young man in the Royal Navy of Albion who is in quite the a dilemma. He has fallen for Lieutenant Villeneuve of the Gaulish Navy and has had to deal with the arguing of three voices in his head who claim to be his "consciences" Wisdom...
I wake up the next morning and groan thankful that they were mostly silent in the morning considering NONE of us are morning people. No one is really happy about today. It feels as if we just got back and yet already heading back to sea.
I get dressed into my uniform. As of yesterday I've been appointed lieutenant, we were all excited when I got my promotion especially Truth, but none of us knew that it would lead to much more time away from home.
After I got my uniform in order I looked at myself in the mirror. My uniform consisted of a dark almost black looking over coat, a yellow vest to go over my white button down shirt, white trousers and finally black knee high leather boots. I took a moment to admire myself in the mirror, then I comb my messy chocolate brown hair brushing it out of my fern coloured eyes.
I was about to leave the house when suddenly.. "WAIT, Joshua eat something we all know you hate it there." Wisdom warned while Truth agreed dreading the long trip at sea, unlike Cruelty who was ecstatic to yell and punish the crew along with the possibility of my death.
" I'll grab something to eat along the way," I told them. Yes I like my job in the navy but it scares me I'm only twenty-three, I've avoided courting in the fear that I'd be rejected by my dearest friend Bryce for being attracted to men. It's almost silly I've fought the Gaulish navy countless times yet I'm scared of being disowned and back where I started many years ago.
I snap out of my negative thoughts as I reach the market. As I look around I see many stalls selling different kinds of goods, some sell eggs, others cloth and some even sell-- I lost my train of thought by the most amazing smell.
"What is that?" I thought then I was answered by the notorious trio.
"I don't know but it smells AMAZING" Truth replied.
"CHOCKING HAZARD" Cruelty yelled sarcastically.
"Breakfast" Wisdom responded slyly.
Not wanting to waste anymore time I made my way towards the delicious smell until I found myself in front of a little bakery. I walked inside only to be faced by counters and shelves filled with baked goods, I made my way to a table with buns and fresh slices of a loaf. I decided to be a little adventurous today considering I might never come back here, and so I picked up a small round glazed bun and made my way towards the counter to pay.

There was a young lady who wrapped the bun for me and said "A glazed brioche, that'll be six franks sir," she said cheerfully.
I gave her the money, said 'thanks' and headed towards the dock. I took a bite out of the bun pleased with its sweet taste, if I make it back I'm definitely getting more.
I made it to the dock an hour before departure. I got onto the boat and introduced myself the the captain and his first mate Jones.
"He seems nice." Truth says.
"He looks gross, don't go near him." Cruelty advises.
"I think he'd be useful." Wisdom commented.
I walked over to Jones and decided to strike up a friendly conversation. We started talking about the crew members, he told me some interesting things about them.
"Most of the crew members were evicted criminals, watch out." Jones informed.
Joshua nodded and looked over at the crew, one of them were hauling the sails, and another was nervously rushing around picking stuff off of the floor.
"We should throw that guy off the ship." Cruelty said coldly making Joshua turn around and face the man sitting down playing with his thumbs.
"Are you trying to get us arrested Cruelty?" Wisdom asked.
"No, I just don't watching people slacking off." Cruelty responded
"I think he's not doing anything because we didn't give him anything to work on." Truth said truthfully.
"Give him a hard job." Wisdom and Cruelty said in unison.
I walked over to the man and said "get up to the crows nest" in a cruel voice. Of course Cruelty rejoiced at my actions.
"Serves him right." Cruelty scoffed.
"Sorry about that." Joshua said to Jones for the slight interruption
"Don't worry you're just doing your job." Jones replied smiling
"See I told you he'd be a nice guy." Truth said confidently
"That's just to lure you into his trap." Cruelty spoke angrily
"Let's just wait and see what happens." Wisdom replied to the two of them.
~2 days later~
The morning did not get off to a good start for me, first I fell on my face as soon as I got out of bed and secondly my consciences were up which surprised me considering that they HATE mornings.
Cruelty just started laughing at me my stupid clumsy mistake, Wisdom was cringing at it, and Truth was silent.
Usually Truth would speak a bit more, but I didn't think much of it so I ignored it and decided to change into my uniform.
The captain called me and Jones to his quarters. As we walked through the ship they started bickering as to why we were being called.
"WHAT DID YOU DO JOSHUA?!" Cruelty yelled, yes she hated me but she loved the job because she could be mean to people without needing a big reason. She'd even punish people for leaving crumbs on their plate.
"Joshua stay calm. If you look professional he might think you know something" Wisdom said with a touch of anxiety in her voice.
I was already worried about the situation, but what worried me even more was that Truth was completely silent.
"Truth, are you there?" I asked as I was in front of door leading into the captains quarters.
"Yes. My advice to you is just to take deep breaths and listen to the captain, remember tell the truth if he decides calls you out on anything you did." Truth said calmly unlike the other consciences.
I thanked Truth. He had a lot of talking to do with consciences after the argument was over.
