 "EMMA! HEY EMMA WAKE UP!"

I opened an eye. There was Bella, yelling at me to get up. This is what happens everyday. Everyday at exactly six in the morning my sister yells at me to get up. I groaned. Mornings and me don't happen to get along. I just don't like them. But I get used to waking up at six. Sometimes I'm even up before six.

"I'm up, I'm up. Why do you always have to wake me up so early?" I groaned at Bella.

"Mommy is still asleep! She won't wake up," was what I got as an answer.

I looked around. Bella was hopping up and down. She looked worried. I wondered why. Finally I realized what she said. Mom not waking up? That was strange. Mom always wakes up. She can't go back to sleep even after hearing the slightest noise. I frowned.

"What do you mean? Isn't Mom up?" I asked Bella.

Sometimes she made things up. Because of the autism, she isn't really able to understand the difference between reality and her dreams. That's why I was skeptical when she said Mom wasn't up.

"Come with me," she begged.

I've never seen Bella beg like that. I was starting to get worried.

Bella led me up the steps and we stopped at Mom's door to her bedroom. I almost never go in her bedroom. It's the one place where she can get away from all the stress. I understand that, and I never bother her. But I think this time, I could break that rule. I was deathly afraid of what I would find.

I opened the door to Mom's room. It was clean and neat, to a certain extend. There were some spilled perfume bottles here and there, but it seemed clean. The walls were painted a cream color. The funriture was a dark wood color. It made the room feel cozy and scary at the same time.

I turned my head to look at the bed. I gasped. I pushed Bella out of the door way. I instructed her to stay in my room, and not to come out or open the door unless you hear me knock three times. She nodded and ran into my room and shut the door.

Everything seemed to be in slow motion. I felt like I was in on of those movie's where the main character has something tragic happen to them. Only this wasn't a movie. It was real life. I slowly walked over to Mom's bed. There was the bed, covered in blood and Mom with a knife through her heart.   And there, in her hand, was a note.
