Erica stayed working in Lizzie's office for the rest of the day after the dilemma with Michael. She felt disrespected at the fact that he was willing to sleep with a random girl in their shared office and not even have the decency to do it on his own desk. The taunting and teasing between her and Michael had been very playful throughout her time working there, but never came to such a low point as that.

He didn't come near her for the rest of the day, which Erica was grateful for since she could see herself throwing the typewriter at his head if he even dared call her name. Erica sat there giving herself a motivational speech in her head every time she came close to a mental breakdown. No matter how much pain Michael was causing her, she couldn't help almost break a smile at the thought of him.

The girl would often find herself going into a trance and stare at him while the two were working. Her gaze would land on his brawny muscles or his facial features when he wasn't looking. The way his eyes would become sleepy once the day was coming to the end or his pouty lips puffing on a cigarette. When he did catch her staring, he'd form a smirk on his face. A comedic joke would follow along with a laugh that was music to her ears. She would melt into the seat when he'd send a wink her way and become extremely flustered. Erica felt like she needed a good slap in the face to bring her back to reality and realize she shouldn't think of Michael in that way.

The day passed by very slowly, much to Erica's dismay. The immense amount of work helped her focus her mind on something other than Michael and was a good distraction. The only positive thing to come out of that day was when Lizzie told her she'd have the flat to herself till late that night.

Lizzie was going out on a date with the the local baker that night so Erica would have the flat to herself where she could relax and unwind. She decided that a pamper night was in order. Her back had been in a lot pain for a while from sleeping on the uncomfortable sofa every night, which led to extreme back pain all the time. She also thought that a pamper night would work out well especially because she wanted to look presentable for Grace's birthday tomorrow as well.

As soon as the clock struck five, Erica was bursting through the office door. She didn't see Michael on her way out, only the rest of the gang who she quickly said goodby to and left. Erica began to power walk home and was excited to have some alone time.

She reached the flat within ten minutes due to her hurried walk through Waterly Lane. Once she got inside, her shoes were off, jacket on the coat hanger and she was getting ready to heat water up for her bath. She decided to light some candles and grab the romance novel she found on Lizzie's bedside table. When the water was heated to her liking , she made the bath and added in some strongly scented lavender soap that flooded the room. Erica thought that some music would be a nice touch and quickly went to turn on the gramophone. Stripping out of her constricting clothes, she sunk herself into the steaming bath. Her muscles began to relax and the pain in her back subsided.
