Welcome to my mind bank, friends! Take a seat. Sit back, relax, enjoy! Now, if you've stepped inside this world of mine, this book may seem a bit familiar to you (or it may not and if so, that's just fine!) But for those of you here and staring at me like, "This DOES look vaguely familiar, Rissa." My response? Well, it should. This version of Saints and Sinners is the (edited, because let's face it, I'm so not perfect) version of my contest entry for one of FANTASCI's short story contests oh so long ago. It was contest THREE guys, way back in July of 2016 (just ignore me blatantly dating my writing, no biggie!)
Anyway, I still love this prompt and after placing first in the contest (OHMYGOD, I still can't quite believe that even now), I felt even more strongly about the concept than ever before. Of course, as those of you who know me are well aware, once new ideas pop into my head, I get very easily distracted... But even after almost two years, I've come back to this one, and yes, I'm determined to keep rolling with it this time. With a solidified concept and new characters to boot, I'm happy to announce the revival and reboot of this beloved short story... NEW AND IMPROVED. And in novel format! *winks*
Special dedications to QuinnOfDiamonds for helping me make the decisions that finally allowed me to actually keep writing this (POV decisions are rough!) and to shadowsleek for letting me ramble at her about characters that she barely even knows about... using nicknames that frankly make them sound highly unappealing (but hey, Ceyrin is a precious garbage boy... so we gucci!)... I love you guys, and y'all help me keep writing more than you know. So *snuggles tightly and hopes she's not suffocating you* honestly, thank you so much for being there for me when I need it <3
