What do the stars think when they cast their gaze onto the great expanse?

When they watch as planets are born

And begin to revolve the constellations in a twisted romance;

As asteroids continue their strange dance

And fall in to the great void as if lovelorn?

They watch as celestial bodies lay comatose

What do the stars think of the majestic cosmos?

What do the stars think of our diminutive abode?

Of our hearts of villainy and scorn

And leaders seemingly talking in code;

While we slowly decay and erode

When they see our world do they stop and mourn

For our ignorance and barbarism

What do the stars think of our narcissism?

What do the stars think of our great nation?

As we waste our limited days in war

And condemn ourselves to damnation;

When we tear apart all of creation

From here to the far shore

A wave of destruction, a deluge

What do the stars think of our mighty refuge?
