He Made Me His Wife

I Was sitting on my front porch.Working on my tablet computer getting the schedule redone for the many meetings I had in the morning.I Noticed a red dot on my chest over my heart.My heart was racing I was in complete panic.My mind was spinning trying to remember what I had done to deserve liquidation.The red dot was pointed on my chest for what seemed like forever.He still hasn't pulled the trigger.Why hasn't he pulled the trigger why is he hesitating has he changed his mind?

Thered dot moved to the lamp beside me on a little green metal table.Ihear a shot fired and the little silver ceramic lamp wasobliterated.I in my state of shock couldn't figure whether to hide orrun for cover.I just sat there like a deer in headlights.Waiting forthe shooter to take me out.The red dot returned to my chest over myheart .Then a man in a red, white and blue suit scooped me up andplaced me inside a black GMC SUV.He said that his name is Steve and Iwas on a watch-list for an organization called S.H.I.E.L.D. As apotential assassination risk and I was to come with him if I wantedto live.We pull into a derelict parkinglot and we get out of theSUV.We begin to walk into a warehouse inside the rundown reeking ofmold building we cme upon a quinjet.To be flown to a base called theAvengers campus for my protection.

"Yousee your grandfather was one of the founding memembers ofS.H.I.E.L.D." ,Steve told me."You're what we like to call alegacy member" he also informed me.So evedently I am high up on thewet list.My parents were in S.H.I.E.L.D. But got out before I wasborn.I am a civilian astro-phyicist head of my department inN.A.S.A.. Science is all I have left after the plane crash that tookmy parents from me at the age of twenty-six.I dove into my studiesand later my work.My love life is practily non-existant same said forany social life.Thirty-six years old and nothing other than scienceto show for it.Don't get me wrong I love the fact I have mutiplePhd's in numerous science fields, Archaeology ,Anthropology,Paelo-Archeao-Anthroplolgy ,Astro-phycisics and I speak twelvelanguages most are dead languages.But the down side was that Isacrificed friends and lovers for expanding my knowledge-base inmultiple fields.

Whywas I being targeted now for termination?What did I do to warrantdeath?Is it because I am a legacy or something else entirely?I donot know.Could it be my pet research project that I accidentlyperfected the teleportation device.Maybe that is it maybe I wasn't supposed to figure out and then implement it.I did it for thebetterment of the human race to go through wormholes to far offplanets and dimensional travel.But I discovered that a decade ago.Whydo they want me dead now what could be the point?
