Truth.

In the sea of a million contradictions one must at times wonder, what is truth?
As the sailors set foot in the ocean, the flamboyant stillness of the modest water left them bewildered. The stagnated winds, the motionless sky, the ruthlessly modest temperature, all that makes a damp journey unbearable lay waiting for the parade to break ground or rather flock together in their chronic dispair. Her captain too had deserted her, the barrels of wine had won him over, his frolic joys of solitude had led her to the midst of a silent road map, one which had never before been traveled and in the hands of brutes who had never held a woman in their care. There wasn't a ship on the planet that could equal her might but there in the middle of nowhere it did not matter.
Days passed and the sailors had no clue as to their whereabouts, they were lost at sea and at this point were out of ration and water too. Only the captain sat in the loving comfort of his cabin with food and wine that he devoured as though it would never run out.

A few more days and the crew would go mad, insanity at sea is not uncommon or unheard of. Desperation can make men do both great and degenerate things. The gory beauty of what was to follow will not be recognised by all and there lies the difference.

This story is not about the uncanny living, it is about those cursed to live at sea. 'The legend of the degenerate monsters'- sometimes names are attributed to these legends by those who never faced the possibility of extinction or understood their own kind, the indoctrinated, half thinking minds.
Legend tells us that these men are still dangling at sea, waiting to be rescued by a noble soul. The wait of over a thousand years in those same conditions, only, they aren't hungry anymore, nor are they thirsty; the caption still drinks but cannot taste. Those who travel these routes claim to hear voices, voices of men screaming out to the world in agony, men waiting to be rescued.

That is the legend, but there, somewhere submerged in the ocean lies the truth.
