After playing around with his communications system for a bit, he fixed it and established communications with HQ.
"Hello? This is Alpha 20, Marshall Jones. I am speaking from Astana in Kazakhstan. I survived the explosion of Genesis."
"Wait, Genesis? To confirm your identity, please repeat your name."
Marshall repeated his name, knowing that his voice was being scanned.
"Identity verified. Stand by for connection to Immediate Response Department head, Victor Maxwell."
There was a pause. The next thing Marshall heard was the coarse voice of Victor Maxwell.
"Hello, soldier. We have tracked your location. It is not possible for a rescue mission. However, we can drop down supplies for you. Now, there is a small base camp near your position. We need you to neutralize it and then use the communications system there to contact us. Then, await orders. Understood?"
"Understood."
"Good. Expect supplies at 1600 hours. Good luck."
"Thank you sir."
Marshall got to work immediately, finding the camp and noting down important things that he saw. Then, he went back to his initial position to receive the supplies. True to his word, Victor's supplies were on time.
Marshall took all the weaponry and ammo he could, and then set out for the camp. Then he silently took a grenade, and threw it at the wall. It exploded, creating a breach through which he entered. After that, he entered the closest watchtower and then aimed his sniper on the guards in the next watch towers. Then, he pulled the trigger. Bam, bam! The two soldiers fell off, dead. By now, other soldiers had come out. Marshall switched up guns, taking his smoke grenade launcher, which he had armed with poison gas grenades. He fired, and soon everybody was on the ground. He switch his vision mode to thermal imaging, and saw that all was cold, and dead.
Phew, Marshall thought. All done in a good evening's work.
