Y/N"is this the real life? Or is this fantasy?"
I say to myself the moment I get out of the aircraft.
This is going to be amazing because I have always dreamt about living in a foreign country on my own.
I am currently in South Korea because I got admission in Korea University.
The reason my parents picked this place was because my cousin works in Seoul. After listening to my request of surviving in a country where I don't belong, they thought it'd be better to have at least one person nearby.
That is why they picked Korea for me.
They said I'd be alone most of the time though.
So here I am, Y/N L/N.
I went to the immigration counters and was asked a few questions in English.
After that, I picked up my luggage and headed towards the exit
"Y/N! I feel like I haven't seen you in ages...you've grown up sis." My cousin said, hugging me as tightly as she could.
She took my luggage and started walking to the exit where a lot of people were holding signs with hangul on them. I assumed them to be names.
"I booked a cab for us, if you see a car with xxx numbers on it, do inform." I hummed in response.
There was some silence between us for a few moments.
"last time I saw you, you were probably 15 but look at you now, all grown up."
A smile stretches across my face as the memories come back to me.
"oh, I spotted our cab." she pointed at black car.
We pace towards it and get seated inside and the driver asks the one-time-password flasshing on my cousins phone.
"we have to go to xxx residents"
She said something in korean that I vaguely understood.
"is that my new place?"
I asked, because I recognized the address she told the driver.
"yes, I'm sure you're Hella excited."
"Oh yes I AM!"
(mamamoo, mamamoo)The radio was lightly playing in the background, so it might not be completely silent.
But to break the silence, I decided to ask a few questions I was curious about.
"sooo... How long have you been living in Korea?"
"hmm...It's been like...nearly 10 years i guess."
"so does that mean you're fluent in Korean?"
"I am. I am now."
"when did you start learning korean?"
"you know that i have been interested in korean culture since a young age."
I hummed to let her know that I was paying attention.
"I've been learning korean since when I was 15."
"you had a teacher or-"
"i learnt on my own"
"coooool"
"i hope you know the basics and other things you need to know to at least talk to a local person."
"I do. I can read hangul and speak a bit but I'm really bad."
"Don't worry, you'll improve. You at least know some stuff because english isn't used that often here."
Just then, the song on the radio switched and my cousins face lit up.
"hey, could you increase the volume a bit?"
"sure..."
The driver increased the volume and i heard a familiar song.
"hey, I've heard this song! 'As if it's your Last' right?"
"oh my god! You know Blackpink?"
"I-I know the members and I've heard a few songs of theirs."
"THEY'RE AMAZING."
"I don't know much about them but I REALLY like one of their voices."
"whose?"
"I think her name is Roseanne."
Hey im back bcoz i lov Rosé
