Chapter 3:
After my "argument" with Zach, not exactly sure what to call it, I decided to talk to my mom and tell her the truth that Zach is more than a friend and that I did meet him online. It won't be easy, but I have to prove to Zach that my mom isn't who he says she is.
----------
Screw that! Zach was right! My mom is trying to control me! She's treating me like a 12 year old and I'm sick of it. She didn't even let me explain.
Our "conversation", went like this:
Me: Mom, can we talk?
Her: Sure sweetie, what's up?
Me: It's about Zach.
Her: What about Zach? He's just a friend, right?
Me: Not exactly?
Her: Let me guess, he's your boyfriend?
Me: How did you know?
Her: Lucky guess.
Me: Really?
Her: Of course not! I'm your mom, I know these things. But what I don't know is why you lied to me. Is there something about this Zach boy you are keeping from me?
Me: Actually, yes. And that's why I want to talk to you.
Her: Ok, go ahead.
Me: You're going I get mad...
Her: I might get frustrated but I'm never mad at you.
Me: Ok...It's about how I met him.
Her: Oh Lord. I hope it's not online dating. You would never do that to me. You love me too much to put me through what your cousin put your aunt through. I know you're smarter than that. Boys you meet online can be liars, and it's a horrible place to meet people. So, how did you meet this boy?
Me: Um...It's nothing. I'm really tired. Night.
Her: I know. You met him online. I know everything.
Me: You know?
Her: Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't know how to work your lap top.
Me: You snooped!? Mom!
Her: I wasn't snooping. I bought that lap top, therefore I own it.
Me: Whatever.
Her: I don't want you talking to that boy anymore. He's bad news. I don't like it.
Me: You're kidding right? I'm 17, not 10, not 12. You can't keep sheltering me from the world.
Her: I'm your mom and you will do as I say!
Me: No!
Her: No!?
Me: No.
Her: Go to your room! Tomorrow I would like to see your lap too and phone.
Me: I HATE YOU!
Her: I love you too.
