I jolt myself awake, reacting to my alarm. I look at my phone and...6:30 a.m. Shit. I slept past my alarm. I jump out of bed and slide into my work pants while sloppily putting on my Taco Bell shirt. I stumble to put my shoes on as I walk out and lock the door all while grabbing my keys. I run out to my car while unlocking it as I towards in. I feel a pain in my head as I get in and realize that I hit my head as I was getting in. Knowing traffic is going to take me a freaking hour, I call in late, exactly like I did the last time I work.

I sit in traffic for almost half an hour until I start actually moving again and...oh. Oh my God. Last night. Crow. Holy. Shit. I start to lose focus until I come to the realization that I'm being beeped at. I move forward and try not to think about it. Try not to think about anything.

I finally park in the Taco Bell parking lot where I always park and hop out of my car. As I walk in, I see my boss talking to Penny. I forgot to mention that I work with her. Of course she's the one who's always getting in trouble for EVERYTHING. I walk past and hear something about lettuce or some shit. I roll my eyes as I clock in.

Hours pass as the day rolls on. I forget all about Crow and life for a few hours and just pay attention to my responsibilities at work.

After a longgggg ten hour shift, I finally leave work  to see Penny waiting by my car for me.

"What the hell happened to your car this time?" I unlock the car, letting her in.

"Got towed." She buckles her seat belt and I look at her, waiting for a reason why. "Fine. My car broke down. The bearing or some shit so now it's in the shop and I have to pay for bus tickets any time you or Kyle can't give me a ride.

I shake my head and pull out of the parking lot.

The ride to her dorm is silent. She's hiding something, I can feel it. I know it. She's acting as if everything is okay and nothing is wrong but I know deep down that there's something she's not telling me. I park in front of her dorm and stop her before she can get out. All she does is look at me. I soon change my mind and let her out. As I watch her walk into the dorm room, I know I'm making a mistake. There's o much that she's hiding from me, my best friend.

The drive back to my apartment is quiet until my phone starts to blow up. I try to ignore it until I get home. I decide to mute the phone and just listen to music to drown out all my problems.

I finally park in front of the apartment building and of course,Kyle's car is here. The only only car that says "MARCHING BAND 4LIFE" in big black letters. I take the stairs up to my floor and see Kyle standing in the doorway.

"Hey what's up?" I turn into the doorway to see the inside of my apartment and

Oh my God.
