For now, he was content with just looking at the stars. Despite there being nothing inherently interesting about the white specks that represented gaseous balls of light, he couldn't help but just be astonished by witnessing them. The whole reality of the situation seemed to settle in and he mentally repeated phrases indicating his delight, though there was no use for them. Of course it was possible, but at this scale?
Then again, someone living in the 1800's couldn't even dream of the technology that was available even today, so why shouldn't this be capable?

A few minutes passed by of just staring out at the space he was surrounded by, Earth still visible, a beautiful, subtly spinning orb below him. His home. Never had he felt so attached to something before, feeling a strange mix of astonishment and homesickness. Not that he wanted to go back, he'd had enough of Earth for now, yet he felt as though it were so delicate, despite being a literal rock, and having sustained itself for over four and a half billion years. That train of thought alone was enough to bring on a wave of existentialism, but instead of feeling depressed as a result, he felt oddly happy. As if it were a blessing to live in this world, in this life, in this body.

That'll be sure to change.

He could probably just stay in this one spot for weeks, but that wasn't his point in coming up here.
He'd devote a week to each of the planets in his own solar system, aside from Earth.. yeah, that seemed like a good plan. This thing could go just a little over light speed, which should make interstellar flight not a problem. Then, he realized that he hadn't equipped himself with everything necessary to last on the surface of any planet more hostile than the Moon, which would complicate things.
Just here to look for life. That's all.

So, the new plan was to fly in a random direction far from Sol, and hope to bump in to some random alien life along the way. That sounded much more concrete.

About two hours later, he mouthed What the F--k? as he came across a large pillar on the middle of an asteroid. It extended far into the skies, and read something in multiple languages he couldn't understand, though one did seem to roughly translate into "Welcome To Spaceport 59!" from semi-literate Russian. At this point, everything felt surreal so he decided to venture to what he believed to be a rest stop on the asteroid. What shocked him the most was as he landed in front of the oddly familiar gas-station like establishment was that the dial on his ship read Oxygen Rich, 294.2 K/ 70 F. No need for a spacesuit, it seemed. He approached the double doors, running as much Russian as he knew through his mind, and pushed one open as a bell above him gently rang to alert the shopkeepers of his presence.
