After the rain

Crystal looked at her watch, he was late, she dragged her suitcase making her way to the entrance of the airport. She pulled her phone and called her dad, it was directed to voice mail. "dad where are you I am waiting here for like half an hour, come on old man, I am so excited to see you. I guess it's the rain, bye dad, see you soon. love you." it's been four years since crystal saw her dad and today after four years of studying crystal was excited to see her dad, the person who made sure she lives every dream she's ever had.

AFTER TWO HOURS

crystal was starting to worry because her father was no where to be seen. the sun was setting shooting orbs of purple and gold lights. after calling for the tenth time crystal hopped on to a cab and got home. she felt a sudden warmth looking at the neighborhood and the drizzle of rain reminded

her of all the memories she had. she walked to her house and she was surprised to see the door open. she went in and was greeted by the picture of her dead mother and the house smelled richly of her favorite food. every thing was arranged for her arrival, except her father was no where to be seen. Crystal went out in search of her dad. she knew her way around. she jogged her way to the market to see her dad. on the way, right on the middle of the road, she could see a group of people and an ambulance. she ran in that direction "it was a lorry" she heard someone telling. she walked in to the front and was shocked to see her dad zipped up in a plastic bag up to the neck and his face was swollen and smeared with dried blood and beside him lay a bucket of crystal's favorite ice cream and broken mug with the words "best daughter in the world" printed on It. crystal felt a lump in her throat, she felt her heart beat accelerate, her head was pounding, she heard herself scream! tears were streaming from her eyes, she felt all alone like a tiny spec In the galaxy. her ray of hope as well as her rain of love was zipped up In a plastic bag.

she looked around, the drizzling had stopped. "I love you dad" she heard herself whisper. and then another stream of tears rolled across her face......
