Victor met Yuuri through the skating community. They had both been skating since a young age, Victor had been successful but Yuuri however had not. He had fallen at the grand prix final causing him to plummet to last place.
He didn't want to attend the end of season banquet but his coach , Celestino , had forced him to. He spent most of the night in a corner by himself, drinking the night away. Of course he had gotten drunk and made quite a few mistakes...
He had pole danced with Chris , challenged Yuri plisetsky to a dance battle and begged THE Victor Nikiforov to be his coach if won the said dance battle.

Before the start of the next season, Yukkos triplets recorded Yuuri skating Victors Stay close to me routine and posted it online. Victor saw this and immediately decided that he had to take a break to fly half way across the world to coach Yuuri. Yakov was not impressed by this but did Victor care... NO.
Victor had coached Yuuri all the way to second place... it took a lot of work but in Victors mind it was worth it. The two bonded together , got along really well... and ... eventually... fell ... in...love. They just knew they were destined to be together.
