"Hey, Mum?"
"Yeah, hun?"
"Which one's my room?"
"Second door down the hall."
"Kay, thanks!"
I open the door to a beautiful room, with an entire wall of glass. I can see the beach, the mall, the casino - an incredible sight. The bed sheets are an ocean blue, and the walls are a creamy white. I notice a balcony behind the glass wall, and an almost invisible door leading to it. I begin to unpack while putting on my favourite music. Damn, I love Fall Out Boy. They comfort me so much - even though they're music is a little depressing.

Once I've finally finished unpacking, I sit down at my matte black desk and pull out my gaming laptop. I tap my new school's name into Google, and press ' Search'. It comes up with the school website, plus a bunch of links to images and sites about students who excelled in school, and therefore got a bunch of awards and stuff. Not interested, to be honest.

Bringing up the school site in a new tab, I scan it for information. It looks pretty good, and it has an 85% average of getting an A-A* in final exams. Honestly, I'm pretty excited - I mean, it has to be better than my last school. That school was... not great.

"(Y/N)! Come downstairs, please, we're going shopping!" I jump, a little shaken at the suddenness of my mum's shout. But once I snap back into reality, I rush down the stairs to the door.
"I'm gonna get you some new clothes, hun. Your style needs to change." Mum says. I look down at my leggings and baggy sweatshirt; I glance at my scruffy 'white' converse, which are more of a grey now; I look at myself in the mirror and don't see anything wrong. But, sure mum, why not. I mean, I could do with a shopping trip by now.

We whizz around Sephora, mum picking up a huge amount of skincare and make up products.
We grab essentially everything in Forever 21, even underwear - really lacey underwear. I cringe so much.
We run into Abercrombie and Fitch to pick up as much summer wear as possible, but most of it is my normal style anyway, which is a slight relief to me.
After a bunch of other shops, we arrive at our final stop - H&M. This one is probably the worst experience for me, as we've come in to buy underwear and swimsuits. Mum doesn't give me much a choice in what we buy, except to occasionally ask me to choose between two bras or something like that. Finally, we leave the store, get into my mum's car and head back to the penthouse which I now call home.

"So," Mum says as we eat our rather fancy dinner. "What do you think of all of this? Your new life?"
"I love it," I respond with a warm smile. "I'm really pleased with how things are, and I'm super excited for school."
"Great! So, I just wanted to go through a few things with you," Mum begins, and I look up with interest. "I want you to begin modelling, and so you'll need to work on your physique and style, I'll need to teach you how to do your makeup and style your hair. You got that?"
I nod slowly, taken by surprise. I really wasn't expecting that.
"You'll need to be quick coming back from school, I don't want you to be late. I'll give you your schedule tomorrow morning when you wake up. I know it sounds like a lot, but it'll be a lot of fun, I promise!"
I'm a little worried, but I'm excited. I think.
