Selena: Hi. *smiles*
Nick: Hi. *smiles back*
Selena: *reaches for his hand but can't get enough strength*
Nick: *grabs her hand* How are you feeling? *uses his other hand to push back her hair out of her face*
Selena: Not all that great.
Nick: I guess that's to be expected. *sighs* Well, hey. At least I can talk to you now. *smiles*
Selena: Yeah. I know. *struggles to keep her eyes open* I...I can't...*eyes close*
Nick: *whispers* No... *walks out of the room* She closed her eyes again. *sits down and puts his head down*
School the next day
Miley: *walks up to Nick* Hey.
Nick: *closes his locker* *turns to face her* Uh, hey.
Miley: *smiles wide and innocently* How are you?
Nick: Not all that great.
Miley: That's a shame.
Nick: *starts walking*
Miley: *starts following beside him* Well, I heard about Selena.
Nick: Yeah, I think everyone here has.
Miley: *steps in front of Nick and smiles wide again* I figured maybe you needed someone to get her off your mind.
Nick: Miley, I'm not the cheater I used to be. I changed.
Miley: Ha! Right, right. I love your humor.
Nick: You honestly think I would do that?
Miley: *brings her face closer to his* Well...
Nick: *backs away* You seem to have forgotten, but just to let you know, we're in school. *walks away*
Later
Bridget: *walks up to Nick* Hey.
Nick: Hey.
Bridget: Uhm...couldn't help but notice. Didn't want to say anything at lunch but...earlier...did Miley...come onto you?
Nick: She wanted me to cheat on Selena with her.
Bridget: *mouth drops* That little-
Nick: Yeah. I know.
Bridget: *silence* So do you wanna hang out later or something?
Nick: Sure. Where at?
Bridget: I don't know I just...*whispers* I really want to find out who did this to Selena.
Nick: I do too. I just don't know how.
Bridget: Have you ever thought that...Miley did it?
Nick: Of course I have...I still think she did it.
Bridget: Meet me at the Coffee Den. My sister is the manager there...I'll tell her to keep it open a little later just for us so we can talk about it in private.
Nick: Are you sure about this?
Bridget: Positive.
