Oh Hell No ! Shane Wolfe

(TIME SKIP )

I was sat in the kitchen with Helga helping her with Tyler while oddly enough Peter was stood in the fish tank throwing cheerios at people ,Shane walked through ,"Doesn't somebody know the meaning of the word discipline around here "He said just as Peter threw Cheerios at Helga ,"Helga makes bottles while I make dinner "I said not looking at him , "Thank you Peter " Helga sighed .

"Peter how did you even get in there " I asked ,He giggled and pointed to his footstool ,I sighed and shook my head laughing ,"Do you want me to take Tyler while you sort out Peter ?" I asked Helga ,"Yes please " She said ,"Gimme that baby !"I said laughing , she chuckled and handed him over ,She walked away and Shane decided to stand where she stood ,"You're good with kids I see "He said .

"Thanks for the observation captain obvious !"I said "Why did you tell mom what happened ?"I asked ,"I had to , she was worried about you "That's when I snapped ,"If you hadn't of left me there , this wouldn't have happened !" I yelled slightly ,"I had to save your father " He said keeping his calm , "Mom told me "I said ,"How you took a bullet for him even though he was already dead "I carried on ,Tyler was now wriggling and holding his arms out .

He was leaning towards Shane ironically ,"You wanna hold him ?"I asked finally looking at him ,"I'm not that good with kids trust me "He said , "It's easy , hold out your arms "I said , He held out his arms , I placed Peter in  his arms ,"Watch his head "I said ,Shane looked down at Tyler and realised he was smiling ,"See he likes  you already "I said ,Shane laughed which was actually rare to see since he never smiled when we were training .

"Now we just gotta work on the others "I said stroking Tyler's hair ,"I am sorry that I left you like that "Shane said ,"I shouldn't have done it , I always say never leave a man behind , this one time I did and look what happened to you "He said nodding down towards my crutches ,"Hey , your team needed you , my dad needed you "I said ,"Don't put yourself down because you had to save someone's life and risk your own at the same time , no one else had the guts to do that "I said ,"You saved my father and everyone in my family is so great full for that , especially me " I ended .

"Your mom said you have to go to the hospital in two days to get your leg checked "he said looking at me ,"Yeah , they're gonna see if I can walk without the crutches yet "I answered , "If you want , I'll come with you , In fact , if you struggle at anytime I'll help you "Shane said ,"Thanks " I said , A alarm went off and Shane's head snapped towards the back yard ,"Take the baby , I'll be back in a sec " He said ,I quickly took Tyler back as Shane ran to the backyard ,I laughed , He hadn't changed one bit .

(TIMESKIP)

I was sat on the sofa with Tyler fast asleep in my arms watching TV ,"All the others are in  bed asleep "Shane said sitting down next to me ,"Weird ,they're normally running around the house by now "I said laughing ,"You haven't changed "He said quietly ,"Don't go all soppy on me lieutenant " I said laughing once again ,"You haven't changed either , Still same old Mr bossy boots who never smiles " I said , "Hey I do smile "He defended .

"When was the last time you smiled other than today ?"I asked ,"When we were forced to train together for five weeks "He admitted ,"Felt like years to me "I said quietly , "I remember the first day of training , You thinking you could beat me up so easily when you flipped yourself backwards trying to knock me down "He said laughing ,"Oh don't remind me !" I said laughing also  ,Tyler started gurgling and reaching out for Shane ,"Hand him over "He said quietly ,I placed Tyler in his arms again and watched them .

" I missed you "Shane admitted ,"I've missed you too " I replied quietly , "Why don't you go put Tyler in his crib and come back down "I said ,"Be back in a few then " He said standing up , I placed my crutches on the floor and waited for Shane to get back ,He eventually came back down and sat down even closer ,I had my legs resting on the chair so I moved them closer to me so he could sit down , "How bad is your leg exactly ?".

I sighed and began to untie the bandage to reveal what was underneath , a large scar was running down the right side of my left leg , It was covered with bruises and small wounds that were in the process of healing , my eyes began watering ,"Hey "Shane said wiping away my tears gently ,"Soldiers don't cry "He said wrapping an at around my shoulders , I hugged him back ,"The day it happened , they told me that the largest scar won't fade and it will take me a little while to walk properly "I said .

He picked up my head with his hand and said ,"You'll be beautiful no matter what , the fact that you survived that without me makes you even more brave and magnificent,  you are a good soldier Ashlee" He said ,"I needed you there with me Shane !, But you weren't there , I kept think I would die " I said .

He cut me off ,"Stop right there soldier !, Don't doubt yourself ever , You made it through without me ,I shouldn't have left you and I'm so sorry "He said hugging me again , "I missed you so much "I said ,"I missed you so much too " he said quietly ,I pulled back from the hug and sat where I was originally sat on the couch .

Since my accident , if I didn't take my medication,  I would feel drowsy and faint sometimes ,"Shane can you do something for me ?"I asked him ,"Sure " He replied ,"Can you get my medication for me ? It's on the shelf in the left cupboard " I said now feeling faint ,He got up and went through to the kitchen , I heard rattling and the fridge door opening .

He came back over and handed me the little container and I unscrewed the lid , I grabbed one capsule and swallowed it down with the bottle of water ,"Thanks " I said , He sat in front of me this time as I was now lying down on the couch, "Mom will kill me if she finds me asleep down here "I said closing my eyes .

By this time I was basically asleep ,I heard rustling and felt somebody pick me up ,I heard the creaking of stairs as they carried me upstairs , I then felt myself being laid down on a soft surface , presumably my bed, I also heard someone whisper as they began to shut the door ,"I love you " .
