" My ship..."
The crew and I stood ashore a small island that we've stopped at before, looking at the injury filled ship.
" We can fix it Cap'tn, we've done it before-", Buck tells me, trying to make the situation less depressing. We got away from Jack finally, but clearly with damages. That's how we ended up here. Once we landed, I found Brat collapsed on the floor of my quarters. I guess she fell?
Shaking my head, I walk over to where Eric and Brat are, the latter out cold still.
" Sam, what should we do?"
I stood studying her, trying to find, out what was wrong. That's when I realized what it was. I turn back to the crew and instruct them to set up a fire and camp for the night, and to find food to distract them.
"Nngh-"
I quickly turn back to Brat, who was starting to wake.
" captain-", she coughs, " what's wrong with me?"
" nothing, you're fine-" I lie smoothly.
She nods and lays back down.
" I'm sorry for the trouble-", she mumbles.
Eric pats her head, smiling.
" Don't worry about it kid-"
He then walks with me a bit away from the rest, and crosses his arms.
" what's wrong with her?"
I sigh, rubbing my face.
" I'm not sure,  but its not good."

- small timeskip-

Everyone was sitting by the fire, talking, laughing and eating. Brat was awake and was joining in on the conversations, laughing loudly.
I sigh, leaning against the tree closest to the group, looking at the stars.
" she's dying isn't she?", Eric asks, standing beside me.
I shrug, looking at him.
" Yes, but Aren't we all?"
Brat walks over to us, holding two bowls and handing them to Eric and I.
That's when it hits me.
" we can't just keep calling you brat, can we?"
She looks at me shocked.
" what do you think about the name Nadia?"
Tearing up, she nods, hugging me.
" Well then, CREW! Welcome Nadia officially to the group!"
The guys all start cheering and yelling, lifting Nadia onto their shoulders.
For the rest of the night, everyone had smiles one their faces, not noticing the dark circles around Nadias eyes, or the red web like veins stretching across her torso.
