Adrian POV:

The eyes. I'll never forget them. She looked up and my whole world shifted.

"Please don't hurt me. I didn't do anything I just live here," she begged.

"Oh sweetheart I'm not here for you," I smile maliciously.

I turn around and grip the throat of the coward who's been putting his hand on this poor woman and her child. It just so happens he also owes me money. I giggle inside. What I'm about to do excites me.  This is gonna be so much fucking fun.

"Please man. There's a child present. Not here. Not now. I will have your money by tomorrow," the coward breathes out. Releasing him I motion for DeCarlo to put him in the trunk. A little girl bounces in to the room.

"Mommy! Mommy! I hungry. I want snack.  Snack time," the little girl says sweetly. She looks around for her mother.  I see her go back behind the couch to the young woman.

"It's ok baby. Mommy will get you a snack in a minute. Go back to the bedroom. Mommy will bring it to you when she's done here," she assures her.

She bounces back to the bedroom and closes the door.

I look over at her mother still paralyzed in fear. She looks up at me with a weak smile. I walk over to her and crouch down to her level.

"What's your name?" I question.

"Aria Summer ," she whispers.

"It's quite a pleasure to meet you Aria." She blushes and I swear this dark room gets  just a little brighter. I can't find a way to stop looking at her. She's so beautiful. Her brown curls droop over her shoulder and it is mesmerizing. The way her big eyes widened as I got closer make me draw back.

" Do you know why I'm here Aria?" I ask.

"Because Jason owes you money?" she breathes out.

"Aria I have more money than I can count. The last thing I want from Jason is his dirty money. My best friend's mom lives in this neighborhood. I think you know her. Mrs. Janice?"  I raise my eyebrow and smirk.

I wasn't worried  about the money he owed. When DeCarlo told me what Janice told him , my interest in Jason piqued.  The appointment that I had settled with him for that upcoming Thursday was pushed up. For years I watched my father beat my mother and walk in and out of lives just to cause more destruction. That is one of my biggest demons. I vowed that I would never lay hands on a woman. I have upheld that vow since I made it twelve years ago at the age of ten.

"Excuse me. What's your name?" she asks me.

"You don't need to know that right now. I'm gonna take Jason with me. I wish you and that beautiful girl of yours all the best sweetheart." I walk to my car and grin.

" This is gonna be fun."
