"You need to see a doctor."

Evan started, blinking rapidly as he stared at the Call image from Skype. In an instant his lips turned downwards into a snarl, curling his hands into fists.

"I don't need to see anyone, I'm fine." He growled.

Delirious sighed on the other end, obviously tired. Evan felt a twinge of shame, looking down almost instantly.

"Evan, stop bullshitting yourself, as your self-appointed best friend," Delirious ignored the silence, when there should have been a laugh. "I can tell you're not fine, stop lying to yourself."

"I'm not lying to anyone!" Evan snapped, slamming his closed fist onto his desk. "I'm fine, I'm just tired. I haven't been getting any good sleep lately."

There was silence, stretching for a long two minutes. Evan craved to end the call, assuming his friend had stormed off.

"Is that what you're telling yourself?" Evan's voice caught in his throat. "Because that was the worst lie you have ever told me, and I'm a bad liar."

"John, I'm fine." Evan ran a hand through his hair, because fuck he hated lying like this. "I just need time to myself."

"Bullshit." Delirious sighed again, "I know you, you aren't being yourself right now."

Evan stared incredulously at the blue screen, lips quivering as a flash of hurt and anger washed over his face.

"What would you know about me?" Evan snarled. "You can't be fucking serious, we haven't even met IRL because you're so fucking scared. You're never going to know the real me until you fucking meet me so don't start with the whole I know you bullshit!"

"I fucking KNOW you Evan!" Delirious snapped, a loud sound echoing from his side of the call. "I fucking KNOW you don't care if we meet IRL because we're best friends as it is and you respect my privacy! I fucking KNOW you get these episodes that you call flashes because they're on and off all the damn time! I fucking KNOW you don't want to worry anyone with this but you're hurting yourself trying to stop us from worrying and you're going to kill the rest of us too if you don't tell us whats going on!"

There was heavy breathing on Delirious's side, before a loud soft thump echoed into his headphones. He was sitting down. Evan looked down, tears pooling at the brim of his eyes.

"I'm sorry."

There was silence then a sigh, and it hurt to know that was a sigh of dissatisfaction.

"Evan." A sharp inhalation of breathe before it was softly let out. "You need to see a doctor."

Evan screwed his eyes shut, mutely nodding.

"Okay."

"Say something other than that Evan, please."

"Alright."
